There is an unusual amount of shit list threads about people who got scammed by newbies, those with almost no status on this forum.

Seriously people, why do you keep falling for that shit? What makes you think someone with a new account here would not go for a scam? Those scammers risk nothing, they get banned and so they keep repeating their shit, but you lose your hard earned money.

Stop buying from them, you ever heard of the risk factor? You always value in the risk before placing your money.

I'd rather pay $500 for a product on ebay to a top-rated seller than $400 to someone who just pressed the sign up button.

Only buy from donors and VIPs who have a BST thread! They are much less likely to become deceptive. Because if the do try to scam someone, they'd lose their business on this site.

You need to estimate one's value on this forum. If you take me for example, do you think I will run away with your $100 and get myself banned? But you should also not overestimate the value. Do you think a 2000 repped guy would run away with your $50k and get himself banned?

Just think about it and use common sense. If someone is making tons of money, is he really in need of this forum to not risk himself? Has he been involved in any dirty matters in the past?

You have to think before you act. Don't be afraid to ask if you are suspicious about something, no one will hurt you, even though that might happen, things are all controlled from the upper levels, us seniors and the mods.

I agree with you, it's better to spend a little more to be guaranteed that you wont get scammed.

Agreed. Bhw does not approve sales to be made outside of bst. The only exception is Jr. V.I.P's selling using their sig. If it is not a bst and it is not in a Jr. V.I.P sig, then simply do not do business with the person.

Also, if it smells like shit, it's probably shit. In other words, if it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is.

Yeah true... but also... what about legit newbies? i could name at least 10 of them on this forum.
Donor or Jr.Vip status means nothing if we talk about bigger sum of cash...i saw few threads about ppl being scammed for huge cash and they got scammed from donors.
I think your thread is too radical. But yeah...double check who you doing bznz with.

    Cheers

What huge cash are you talking about? Which thread?

There might be legit people but the risk of dealing with them is still very high that I'd never approach them, unless you know them in person for a long time.

Time at BHW means authority. If it's a newbie, regardless if they are donor, be afraid, very afraid. I especially like the threads when two newbies are seemingly trying to scam each other. You gotta love that dance.

I agree with OP. I wouldn't do business without checking that not only does the person have a high post count, but a long history that has high-quality posts that indicate that the person is capable of at least producing what they are selling.

To be honest, 90% of the time its a newbie getting scammed by another newbie. and probably half of those is the result of a lac of communication between the two. I've seen so many threads started by newbies or jr members saying "this or that is a scam!!" and finally they hadn't cancelled the subscription in Paypal.. etc..

Anyways, yeah.. agree with OP. I'd also like to add: always pay with paypal. anyone who doesn't want to use paypal is probably going to scam you.

If you consider yourself an experienced guy and you got scammed by a newbie, well...it's time to re-analyze your status and skills :) As Giorgio said in most of the cases we are speaking about newbies ( yeah you know them, the ones who are starting a thread: I want to make 200$/month fast) who are lied but other newbies or professional scammers who are here just to hit and run thinking that this method will make them money years for now.

I really dont remember the thread...and im not talking bout millions..but yeah couple hundred dollars here and there.
Just see how many donor users got banned.... every day i see more and more.
Point is...lets say i have friend, hes cool and professional dude...so why to judge him only because he just joined forum and hes newbie...got my point? after all...you dont have jr or donor status as well... but that doesnt matter

My point is ...we were all newbies, and most of us grown in respectable members, im still kinda newbie tho.
Dont judge people because post count....Donor or Jr does not guarantee anything.

    Cheers

Respectfully speak for yourself. I agree that it is easy to sign up and scam and do it again but that does not mean that all "newbies" bring nothing to the table. I understand and respect this community and understand I am new so I need to "prove" myself to others. I bring a LOT to the table both white hat and black hat. It is people like you I might not to do business with because of your ignorant attitude towards new people. It is not what you say it is how you say it.

Also it isn't just about rep, but how they got the rep.

I won't name names, but there have been at least one past member (banned now, though not for scamming), who had 2000+ posts, 1200+ rep and didn't know a single thing about SEO and claimed to be making 50 cents to $1 per day after working SEO for a few years. You have to check their post history and determine if they got their rep from helping others, or from debating and posting feel-good stuff that has nothing to do with SEO.

Yeah, I've also seen a lot of SL threads where people are like "but i don't understand! he was a Jr VIP! and he seemed like a nice guy, that's why I thought Western Union was fine to send the payment, I mean he had like 600 rep here!".. $97 is not a big investment for someone who plans to run away with $XXXX ..

I have had enough of being newbie bashed and sometimes by more reputable members when I try to point out that these newbies are scammers. I leave them to it now, but I think BHW should delete the threads if the member selling is new with no rep.

To be honest some newbies may know there stuff but there is no way you should be sending them over $100 dollars for a major project. Just doesn't make sense.

Disagree. You are hostile and should not have made this post. It adds nothing to the conversation, and only casts negative attention to yourself. No one cares what you think you "bring to the table". You have no idea 1) What you just said. 2) Who you just said it to, and 3) What people now think of you now for having made such a catastrophic blunder. In your case 1) What you said was wrong, 2) How you said it was wrong and 3) The fact that you said anything at all was wrong. The fact that you made the statement "I understand" twice in a single and meaningless post only underscores how unaware you are.

See all those stars next to all those senior member's names? See the "join date"? See the post count? See the Reputation? All of those factors add-up to something significant. It means those Member's know something, and an intelligent person that plans on learning something would do well to pay attention to what they say, and exercise caution when making a recklessly hostile and meaningless post, like you have done.

See the absence of stars, your recent join date, your 17 posts and your default 10 reputation points? That says something too. It says "New, and solidly neutral.", however your post says "idiot", "ignore" and "avoid", and I wouldn't be surprised if you didn't earn yourself some negative rep as well.

What stick got up your arse? You think just because you got some age on this forum that automatically means trust ? He brings up a valid point. Without fresh users with fresh ideas this community would die out. And the worst thing you can do in any venture is dismissing something new simply because it's new.

Neg rep can be given to a member when he has committed a mistake without knowing that it is a violation. (with sheer innocence/unknowingly)
I have been awarded -8 rep as I was trying to post a Facebook link in a thread just trying to explain how ppl are doing out there.
I have no idea that posting a direct link is a violation :(
Now trying hard to get my +rep. I will be soon positive though ;)
This thread doesn't make any sense. Not all newbies are scammers. Even a Super mod is a Newbie at one time.
Just research and discuss your deal with a person you are doing business with. JUST DON'T BELIEVE A PERSON BLINDLY WHETHER HE IS A DONOR/VIP/NEWBIE.
