How much do you actually earn? I recently hit the jackpot and I'm earning about $150 a day from it if I push myself, and the guys I'm working with are saying they're gonna have a lot more work for me. I'm doing 150-180 word articles for $2.25 for one guy and 500 word articles for $9 for another one. I'm wondering if I can actually do this full time and stay off school for one year until I get some money for myself so I can get something going.

Yes you can do this full time. Content writing is a nice little business.

People like me hate writing and we don't mind paying a few buck for content on our sites.

    Hello,

Not to want to step on toes, but where did you find the guys you are writing for. It sounds like you aren't doing the "Textbroker.com" thing, but your own clients, right?

I would be interested in doing something like this too.

    Seb

I found them on freelancer.com a few days ago. I worked there before but nothing like this much of an income. I did a few projects like 2 years ago and earned a total of about $600 from everything. But now I'm making a killing every day. I found them by pure luck. I just made a very nice cover letter saying that I've been a writer for 3970 years and that I have broad experience in 300 undiscovered SEO fields, strong command of English language and that was about it, I got picked out of the hay stack. The first guy is an American who can't really speak proper English so he hired me to do some articles for his kitchen appliance website, and the other one is from Singapore and works for a social escort website, and he's basically handing me the website content to write. They both said there's going to be plenty more work if I'm doing good and apparently I am. The guy from Singapore left me a review on freelancer.com saying he's never had such a good service before. I guess I must be doing pretty good then.

    Congratulations.

Although I wouldn't say it was pure luck. You took the time to prepare something to make your service stand out. The vast majority of people simply don't and that makes you already part of the good minority.

    What to do now:

    • Work hard to make your clients happy
    • Enjoy your daily income (which is a lot for your country and that should make you proud)
    • Find a way to scale. You only have 24 hours a day yourself but that's why other people exist.

    • Thanks Thanks x 2

    First of all... congratulations :D

Have you tried joining fiverr? The competition may be fierce but its increasingly popular, and shows no sign of dying out any time soon.

Also, I may have a way that you may be able to scale. But it depends on the type of articles you write. Scaling is vital.

If your not ready for that, keep doing what your doing. Working online is one of the best feelings ever :p

well done.. get your ass on Odesk, or Upwork as it is now called.. the top writers on there charge $45+ an hour for the writing skillls, theres no reason you cant do the same if you are good enough..

I was an article writer for many months but i found it a bit limiting after a while and quit it for starting my own projects. Your writing skills will come in so handy if you ever decide to create your own websites.. content is king afterall

Hey, I would advice you to stick at school. It is a very precious time that you would regret missing. You would remember that for lifetime.

The point is, I currently can't afford being in school for another year as my family cant pay another 20k for me to be there. I study in England and it's a private school, and if I had to leave the school I would still have to pay 5k if I'm in the UK. So I'd rather be home getting shit rich.

Then consider choosing me next time you have content to do, eh? :D. I figured money would be better in my pocket, I know how to spend it better than all you people paying for content.

Yeah, I joined fiverr yesterday and got my first order within 24 hours. The guy was satisfied and wants more.

I'll take a look at it and see if anything suits me. My work is high quality so I don't think there would be a reason for those retards not to hire me.

Yeah, that's roughly what I write every day or even more - about 9500 - 10000. Takes me anywhere from 3 to 6 hours, depends on how I feel.
I'll be going back to school in September and believe me, I thought about it, but I just can't. It's a boarding school, and boarding school in the UK means nothing but shit life - I wake up in the morning at 7, go eat, come back, take a shower, go to school until 4 or whenever, then have 1 hour break until 17:30 when I need to go eat dinner, then from 18:30 til 20:00 I got shit prep in which I MUST do my homework or otherwise they expel me. Then I got like 2 more hours of free time and I have to be in my room by 22:00, and in bed at 23:00. I can stay up late, that's not the problem, but the next day I would just feel tired as fuck and won't do anything productive at school. I should mention my grades are the highest in my class and I don't study at all. Everyone comes to me for help and I usually charge them a casual amount of money for my services. As a fellow blackhatter always said - if you can do something, never do it for free. Now I don't really give a fuck about whatever they say about me because the amount of time I spent alone in England taught me that people are nothing but trash, and you should treat them like trash. Until I find myself real friends, I'd rather be getting a decent amount of money to invest in something and get rich from there. But yeah, I won't quit school forever, at least not as of now it's not in my mind, but 1 year on the bench can't be that bad, right?

Congratulations on taking action, it's great that you're earning a decent income from your writing.

It sounds like you're doing an awful lot of work though for little return. I would imagine it would be easy for a writer to burn out trying to keep up that level of output (unless you really enjoy it).

When I first started online back around 2007 I worked for a company that paid me £25 per 500 word article - at time that was about $50 (its only $38 now). I wrote 2-3 articles per day and made damn sure I did a good job of them. I was still finished work by lunchtime though.

If you're serious about writing for a living I'd work on finding higher paying customers so that you can work less for more money. That way you'll be able to have a life too!

get your priorities correct first, If you really want to be in to content business then I would not think much about school and the same other way round.

But I know you have already made the choice.

You're right. But this came so quickly I just had to take advantage of it. I make a month's minimum wage in 2 days, and I can definitely live a lot better in Romania than in UK with the money. Figured if I stay here it'd be a lot better. I don't really know where to find higher paying jobs, though. I'm only 17 and I feel like I should still have a backup plan if this doesn't work out. If I do get a contract with a company, though, like working in an office and stuff, I'd definitely forget about school. What I want is to finish my Year 13 so I can have enough for getting into uni, then I can take a year off or two if I need it and if I see I'm making a shitload of money I'll postpone uni until I feel like it's the right time. But I really want to finish this last year first, though. It's a lot of work, but I feel like it would be worth it in the long run. I don't see myself working for 2000 pounds a month for the rest of my life, though.

I kind of know what I want to do - get some money from content writing and then invest it in some online thing, I know I have the abilities cause I'm a quick learner, and then get a passive income of about $50 a day at least so I can have something for myself until I finish my studies.

I don't have a boss, I just have clients. If I had a boss I'd be working for a lot more money I think, because I'd be willing to take his shit.
