How about we noobs, seminoobs and all not-yet-money-makers list here a methods and things we have tried so far to make money online, but which have failed. Or things that are hard to accomplish. And then helping each other out, think and analyze what wen't wrong and list a possible solutions for our problems. How's that sound? Who want's to start?

Monetizing a site that was put together out of a passion, but there is literally no money to be made.

...Perhaps I am the only one to put years into a website project, and find that people enjoy it, but it's a failure as far as money is concerned.

What are other people trying out that isn't working?

+Rep for Botterman.... It's true, jumping from ebook idea to ebook idea is the WORST thing I do to myself (well, besides $1 Lapdance Night at The Peg-Legged Palace)

You also must to be a littel bit sure about what you doing, becouse if you do only one thing and you find out after a year that was a failure, you are burnt!

In my case my main problem is getting started. I almost always delay starting a new method. I think I have lost on most opportunities just because I keep postponing.

Its true when they say that the journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step.

My ADHD is good and bad.

Sometimes I'm really compulsive and will work for 12-16 hours STRAIGHT on my computer working on a method or website or script, whatever the case may be.

But then again at other times, I get easily distracted and just forget about this.

Anyways besides the ADHD mini-rant, I've had limited success with e-whoring. I want to look for a more automated & stable income -- which I've come in terms with social network marketing/spamming. I'm also having limited success. I just need to scale up and I'll be fine. :)

Not really sure if this should be only directed at noobs, im sure everyone here has failed many times over. I have failed with wayyyy more ideas than i've succeeded with, but you only have to succeed once to be successful :)

Almost all the projects that fail end up so because of lack of follow threw. If you stick with one idea you are more likely to succeed. If you just try every idea on here for 1 hour then ditch it, your probably not going to get anywhere.

What finally worked for me on a pretty good little thing I have going now is to research the idea, then I wrote up a 'schedule' for the next month and am forcing myself to stick to it as best as possible. If I would have done like normal, I would have seen bad results the first day, and even the second, then it slowly started to pick up and now is working out great as I learn more about it.

My advise is just to pick something and stick to it.

Figuring out which method works best and sticking to it. I start reading about methods and information on different websites (example I can sit here on BHW all night long and just read and still don't know where to start). Very new at internet marketing, but the hardest part that I'm finding out is where to start or what to start with.

I think where I fail is not being able to come up with my own ideas. I just use others. You will never succeed if you cant improve upon other ideas and make them better or new.

I failed my first few attempts by being too naive. I actually believed what a so-called guru on DP at the time wrote in a $20 ebook that that dirt-cheap traffic bought at $3 CPM would give a decent adsense click-thru. In no time at all, I was out $20 for the ebook, $70 for hosting (paid the year up front), $25-ish for traffic, and 15 hours of work making the site look professional. Bottom line, I never made a dime.

Edit: BTW, that was my second attempt...

I could help you scale up your spamming activities.

I could deliver your emails to people's inboxes.

    Check PM.

my biggest problem is not enough time in a day and lack of follow through, ill register a domain for blog and not ahve it up for 2 weeks, even though it takes 20 minutes from start to wordpress install....ill get it done sooner or later.

If you want to make money you need to be doing it now. not tomorrow. thats for sure.

Ive been doing web design since jan, and learned how to stuff more recently. made a couple thousand.... now around 100/day

Do you mind if I ask what you are doing making money with your web design skills? selling websites or doing freelance work or what?

Been doing e whoring on craigslist, no one REALLY tells you how to keep your ads up,and not get flagged when you have content that is simple and no one really know what you do by reading it.Alot of companies offer advice, but its the same old churned up stuff you cant even do on craigslist. But as above yes consistancy is a my focus and coming up with new ideas is frustrating when you dont know what works lol. Thanks for this post.. its kewl.. hope some one can enlighten me.. i have read all on e whoring but craigslist is a beast.. no one can tame..and keeps changing.. e whoring is the worst, they kill our ads, but not the hookers lol go figure.
