Hey folks!

I've been a longtime lurker on this forum and would like to start participating. My primary strength is in copywriting, which I've done for clients over the course of about 8 years now. I'm tired of always writing for others. I'd like to expand my skillset and start learning more about the numbers. I want to become a better marketer.

I know this gets said a lot, but I honestly don't know where to begin. Here's what I know: I want to sell real *products*, ideally physical ones. I enjoy the adult markets as both a consumer and to write for.

I don't know if it's too late to make any income from a sex-toy store, or if anyone has any experience with that. I've long considered a store specifically for couples who would like to take their *kink* up a notch but don't want to push it too far right away.

I've got about two hours a day after work that I can dedicate to this, plus weekends and the occasional day off. I would love any suggestions I can get, and I promise to offer my copywriting knowledge to anyone who needs it.

Thanks so much, hope I can find some answers here!

Start writing about your preferred `topic and publish it through any channel . Make sure you have a mechanism to let your viewers subscribe to you so that content is syndicated to them regularly.
Promote offers . Make money. Eat.Sleep.Rinse.Repeat. Since copywriting is your biggest strength use it your benefit by crafting promotional longform articles which ultimately make your readers take specific action which should somehow fit in your grand scheme of make yourself some money.Concentrate on the BIG picture. Plan for tomorrow but not more than 5 years.
Make a schedule. Buy a clock. Engage your crowd. Build a brand , or maybe a tribe. Cults would do too. But whatever you do , always make them happy. Small things matter. Butterflies cause hurricanes too . Find meaning through chaos and balance out your equation . Be honest , straight and moral. All this makes me money , maybe it should do to you some good too....

Hahaha crazy thing: I have started a blog! Just not in this particular market. It's in my other passion: writing fiction.

If I were to make a living off of writing fiction, how to make an excellent cup of coffee, and the soft BDSM niche... I think I'd be a happy camper.

It's taken me a long time to accept how little I know about the practical side of making money selling products. I got the copy part down, but it's just one piece. I haven't a good idea of how to sell the actual products, or what sort of things I need to look out for.

I should also add: I want to keep my actual name out of the BDSM market. I'd prefer working 'behind the scenes' as much as possible, or with a pseudonym.

well, you can still write for others, but instead of doing it vs some money, ask them for link exchanges etc. in a word, get into guest blogging and that way you'll promote your own blog/site that will benefit from these BLs,which will eventually generate incomes.

another advice, if you're to sell physical objects in that area (adult market), create and affiliate program where you give a good % to your refferers, then they'll do part of the job for you.

what was said above is very true : butterflies cause hurricanes. your market is an easy one in the sense that 90% of internet users are potential consumers/readers of what you'll do, so what you need is to offer different contents from others to attract attention and possibly create some buzz around your blogs.

for example, if you create a site for humans dating aliens, nobody will have an actual use of it, but they might share it because it's "fun". be innovative and creative, that's the key i'd say.

good luck with that!
