There has been some security alerts related to Ultrasurf...FYI. I am not technical enough to judge it's safety, but do a google search so you make an informed decision! There are several threads on Wilder's Security about this software.

I use a program called Proxy Switcher. It finds and tests proxies and you can select proxies from whatever country you choose...

I've been using FoxyProxy plugin for Firefox and its quite good.

Just search Google for "Proxy Lists" choose any "High-Anonymous Proxy Server" (if thats slow try "Transparent Proxy") listed on those sites according to the country you want the IP address from.

Add it to FoxyProxy and it'll be saved for future use.

Now, whenever you need it, just right-click FoxyProxy icon, choose your preferred proxy and you're good to go.

Yeah, Steve (owner of XeroBank) bought it up at BlackHat. While i think he's got many reason to want UltraSurf to fail, he does have some good points with regards to pinging US government infrastructure, the way SSL is handled and the other behavior of US.

Personally i wouldn't use UltraSurf unless it was installed on a VM with no other personal data, and only used for trivial stuff like making and posting to junk Web 2.0 accounts etc.

I've been flipping between cloakfish and hidemyip premium. Seems like one will be working like a mofo for a couple of months, then...it'll..............slow......................................WAY.............................................down
and the other one will pick up.

Both are cheap, if you value time over (a small amount of) money. I don't want to spend 1/2 a day poking around with proxy sniffers to find one that hasn't been totally destroyed by all the torrent porn when I can spend $10-$15 a MONTH and just blast away.

Hidemyip is better if you need to quickly switch your IP (right-click, choose 'Change my IP', done) occasionally or often. You can also designate only US IPs.

But cloakfish has its benefits too.
