Buyers just need to be careful when choosing services to purchase. I also got my first ever unnatural links penalty this year after purchasing BHW links, but then I was purchasing $2 PBN links so its partly my fault. The solution is to pay more for quality and ask questions before buying. Price is not a guarantee of quality but most garbage services are cheap.

No one wants to start a shitlist. It takes time, effort. As well as the possible implications of people viewing you as a snitch.

I recently tried out about 15 different link indexing services and found that more than half are completely broken and don't even attract 1 google spider. A few of those services are on BHW. I have pm'd both members and notified them that their service literally isn't working, people are just throwing their money in a cave. Neither of them seemed to care. Services are still broken and still being on BHW. I left a review in both threads, in 1 it was just completely ignored and pushed to next page with "discount copies"available and in the other the seller blamed me for it not working.

Now I spend about 10$ each on these services and one of offered me a refund. If I had brought this to the shitlist section it would do me more harm in the longrun. All I can do is test something and leave a review, it's not up to BHW members to shitlist a service everytime it doesn't work. I have read enough shitlists to know that they get UGLY.

If I made a shitlist for every service that didn't work then probably I'd have 50 shitlists by now

I noticed this too and stopped buying links for a long time. I recently restarted and the link quality is still pretty bad. Lots of positive reviews even from mods on shit gigs. It makes me think mods are in on this too. Last time I reported bad + overpriced links in a BST a few yrs back I received a warning from a mod lol

You are not aware of this and you should not be but most SL threads don't see the light of day. There is no way you, or anyone else would know, as it is all done via PM, Skype, etc.

We work behind the scenes to get things sorted so the buyer gets what he pays for almost all the time before allowing a thread to go live.

It you don't get what you paid for on BHW that is the current system in place... if you think there should be a different system please share your thoughts (they don't have to have a perfect plan in place) here - https://www.blackhatworld.com/forums/forum-suggestions-feedback.26/

I can tell you this, and I think you know this already, but none of the staff wants to see a member get ripped off and none of the staff wants to see a member feel like they can't ask for help in a situation like that or any other situation.

    It's really not.

#1 ban was because the guy actually asked to be banned via PM as well as in a random thread.
#2 ban was because I would not want to subject someone to something they didn't want to be subjected to and thought I'd help out.

I spent 300 USD yesterday on some of the services most mentioned in this thread, - I don't expect miracles in SERPS from the packages I bought but I would expect something, and having read this - I will raise issue if after a few weeks I don't get some kind of result, I am certainly not expecting the blog articles I bought on a PBN to be well written, for the price I paid I doubt they came anywhere near human hands - and I am fine with that. I was slightly put off when I was sent an email after placing my order telling me to post in the thread "because it helps track the orders" - thats .. how you say in french ......"FUCKING BULLSHIT" , they either think the customers are thick as fuck and can't see the thread bumping tactic, or they don't care and want the thread bumped at all costs, either-way I did not bump the thread as requested - I want to see a result before I stick my tongue up a vendors arse, not before.

Maybe reviews should be only allowed by verified buyers? Maybe the marketplace could have its own <buy now> button for sellers or have something which tracks who buys / who can leave a review, idk

I'm both seller and buyer here.

Finding a solid, reliable sellers is just as big of a struggle as finding a solid clientele.

    About buying services..

When I buy a service first time, I always point to a property I don't care about that much. This way you stay safe. When doing this, point them to a clean page with 0 links. This way, you will be able to easily see what's going on. Either in WMT (search console) or by simply by observing the behavior of that single URL.

What I also look for is price and what I get for it. This is the biggest giveaway. If a PBN link costs $4 one time, it is just that. It will give you a temporary boost of a few spots, that's it! If it claims the content is unique and hand written, I'm sorry but it is not and no way it can be.

I rarely use "packages" these days but if I do, only as tier 2+. Never 1st tier.

The biggest problem is that most of the links of the services (here and in general) don't even get indexed. You can't get any result if that is the case.

    About selling services...

80% of people have no idea what they are doing and therefore buying. Most services are tools. It's up to you how you use them.

They are not willing to experiment and/or educate themselves.

Impatience. It's all about getting results, yesterday. If they don't get them, they automatically blame the seller.

Expectations are totally unreal. No, you are not going to rank #1 for "forex trading" with 5 PBN links even if they have 200 RD on average. Nor will you see any increase for a website you just setup 2 days ago, for a very long time.

Updates. Engines make so many changes consistently, that it's likely ranking fluctuations are cause by them, not the service you bought.

    About SEO...

    Quality over quantity.

I only do guest posts, niche edits and PBN links these days. Nothing else is really required when it comes to pushing the needle. It's stunning for me that people seriously expect rank increase from crappy web 2.0s or wiki links that don't even get indexed.

Same with content. Better to publish a well researched, engaging piece of content once a week rather than multiple LQ articles daily purely for SEO. (been there, done that)

With approach like this, you will not only save money but you will also keep the quality high. And you will be able to pin point what went wrong easier.

splishsplashes got hit hard. Not sure he is up and running again already.

Oh man, really? You just hurt my feelings... We had such nice run together. :)
