I've had a couple sites hitting high on first page for high competition keywords but have been slipping. I'm also working on getting some new sites up there. My methods don't work too well anymore.

Can anyone share on how to get a good standing on first page of google search results..?

thanks will be given for helpful feedback

    lmao

    TIPS

    spell that with your ABC's

I have a ton of websites over 4 years old ranking top 3 pages

I have new little sites and they aren't pulling in as strong with my methods.

I'm asking for tips not methods. Quit inflating your post count and post on another thread.

    thanks :)

Yes. I found quality links are essential along with freshly updated content. I also submit content to SB sites for recognition and traffic (adds authority to site)

90% of SEO game to get first page is quality and alot of backlinks with keywords you target in the anchor text for all of those backlinks
keyword research is very important at first, i know it's hard but try to target keywords with high search volume and low competition maybe around 100,000 websites in search results, thats in case u havn't done a keyword research already.
also make sure the backlinks doesn't include the rel="nofollow" tag, u can make sure by checking the source code of a website before you ask for a link or post one.

a good way is blog comments, here is a great blog directory that only list blogs which allow ******** links in their comment section:

    dofollowblogs.com

also ******** links pass "link juice" or page rank to the target sites.

but, i was wondering, what methods you were using, is it black or white hat? :]

Backlinks is everything right now. I don't think you need to go back to learn on-site optimization. I hope everything are working fine on on-site optimization. Except that you can analysis your website more using google.com/webmasters. this can truly analysis your website than any other do, similarly you can get more ideas over your keyword.

Except that you can do forum posting, SB, ******** blog commenting through different techniques shared in the forum. One of the easy idea to get ******** blog comments is searching "powered by disqus" +keyword in google without removing ' " '.. But always get your targeted keyword as anchor text while getting backlinks.

Ranking a site in Google requires heavy backlinks. Scoring backlinks with high PR and perhaps finding .edu or .gov sites that somehow allow link posting (Lots of colleges have blogs you can comment on).

I spend 90% of my time drilling away at getting back links using my various tools, submitters, posters, and scrapers.

Good high quality keywords are also pretty much the most important component. Yeah you can have random anchors and tons of them, but it's not going to do much for targeting high ranks for specific keywords. Nailing that golden keyword that has weak competition as well as few competition (Using competition analysis tools) perhaps 100-300 thousand title competition at most, and look for super high traffic.

Drill on your golden keywords. I usually find at least 4-5 super powerful key words with another 4-5 really good supporting keywords. And I spend 24/7 building links. Never stop. Ever. Even when you're in 1st, download all your updates, all your new lists and continue to hammer those sites.

Don't expect success after a few weeks, or even a few months. If you can't get a site to start heading in the right direction by 6 months, then you're doing something wrong. Don't give up.
