I currently have 10 working proxies and a VPS so I thought I could put them to good use, maybe for twitter, instagram, facebook and/or youtube, but the thing is, I get little to no response, I'm not link spamming or anything, I just want to build a following, Could you provide any tips to achieve this?

Edit: This might have been best in the Social Networking subforum but I wasn't sure where to put it, my main goal is to create a following and then monetize later, so I thought it'd be okay here.

If you're just starting out you need a some initial followers or you won't get shared or liked on FB at least. Either pay for some FB exposure or invite friends in order to get started with a minimum user base.

Know your niche, what kind of stuff do the top influencers share for good engagement? Prep lots of content, I have content scheduled months in advance. Not all of it is niche relevant, sometime it is a reminder: "Daylight savings time for those not in Arizona", sometimes a nonniche related meme that might interest some.

I also mix and mingle my content. Some tweets go to Facebook, some don't, and vice versa.

I am currently building up a following for a niche aimed at 18-28yr olds, primarily women, with some college education. So I went out and found nonconpetitor sites and saw what they were doing. I tweaked it and am now going after that audience.

Thanks for the helpful advice, as youi said, I'll do a bit of research first, then stockpile on content and after that, I'll see how my competitors reach out to their target audience.
