tips on making ecovers?

hi all

can anybody give me some advice (a link/site/) whatever on how to make nice ecovers for books, cds etc...

i don't need software to make them...i've got some pretty impressive photoshop actions to make covers.

i just need advice on designing the darn things, cuz my designs so far look like crap....

you know, any tips on fonts, colors, graphics, etc?

For colors Blue and Red look good, but depends on your subject

Fonts: try anything that looks good.

Graphics, just go to flckr or search for "free stock images" or even buy some good stock ones...

I use the photoshop actions I think that you use, they won't look as good at professionals but it willl create average/above average ones..
