In cases where your sites are indexed late or not indexed or not ranked, this may be due to the visuals in your content.

If the image is not hosted on your server, if you are quoting or copy-pasting, it may index late and not rank.

Let me point out that even a link you give to a spammy site in your content will cause you not to rank.

I was taking the images from other sites. Apparently they had filtered the site I viewed, but as soon as I saw that link, it was not ranking. As soon as I removed it, the first page moved to the top 3 sites again.
 
good tips! I've suspected the non-indexation of stolen / pirated images to be a thing, but I was afraid to voice this as I wasn't sure. But now I know :)
 
Since on page plays a good role in ranking your website. Yes outbound links also plays a role and linking a spammy site is definitely gonna hurt you.
