Hey guys,

I'm slowly learning about the "tiered link building" technique using this great ressource video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KyFsK8bu7g8 and I have two questions.

1-- When using this technique, what is the main goal?
a) getting visitors (going from Tier3, to Tier2, to Tier1, all the way up to the "main site")?
or
b) transfering "link authority" from one tier to the other, all benefiting the "main site"?

2-- Also, is it "safe" to use the same backlink architecture (blogs, directories, etc.) for many projects?

Let me explain: I'm opening different restaurants in Tokyo, Melbourne, NYC, etc. Every restaurant will have it's own, dedicated site that I want to promote. Is it okay to rely on the same blogs, forums and directories to build Tier1 and Tier2 backlinks? (For example, I could easily create blogs titled "best restaurants in the world" and "the best seafood places for people traveling around the globe" blogs that would feature all of my places). Can Google tell when two (or more) sites use the same backlinks architecture?

Thanks in advance,

For question 2:

Tier 1 - High Pr do-follow web 2.0s & Guest Post

Tier 2 - Any do-follow contextual link. I like to use GSA for this.

Tier 3 - Every link type. I don't use contextual links here tho.

Edit: lol I didn't read the whole post, yes you can use the same websites for links.

One thing to mention, I would highly recommend the domains be purchased with separate names (even tier 2-3), and different hosting for each domain. Some people use proxies and refuse to use google sponsored software or online tools with multiple accounts as well. Just basically do not give G any way to see that these sites are associated with each other at all.

Stop don't do anything else.

Do not do this type of link building to a bricks and mortar venture.

You need local seo 'where to eat in Tokyo' type searches. Do not burn the arse off of a business with high overheads with spam.

Stop looking in the black hat section and look in the local seo section. The process is different and very much safer.

The above post is correct.

You can still do tier link building but local SEO is a bit different.

You need to get local citation links and have great on page SEO.

Building links is still important but the 2 things I mentioned above should be your first priority.
