What are some tips for using Threads? I've tried many things but nothing has worked. Is it really necessary to configure its settings when running ads?

Threads is a newly launched platform, but many young people love it.

And because the majority of users are young, your advertising content must quickly catch trends to easily attract attention.

Even though it has been launched for 2 years, this is still the beginning stage of Threads, so Facebook still supports distributing traffic to posts quite accurately to the target audience. So it is not necessarily required to have a manual configuration. Since the majority of the user base on Threads is Gen Z & Gen Y, the post content needs to be updated with the latest trends and use hot keywords. Additionally, I see that on Threads, you can still post images unrelated to the content. You can post sexy or shocking images to attract traffic. :D

Consistency in posting and meaningful engagement are key on threads. The platform rewards authentic interactions, so creating content that sparks real conversations, answers questions or encourages discussion will naturally build an engaged audience.

Threads are used differently from Instagram and Facebook, so applying the same old tips will often not yield results. Focus primarily on keywords.

Threads are most effective when you focus on generating discussions (replies) with content that is "one clear idea + question/opinion" and post consistently within a niche.

If you are looking for quick results, I recommend turning it off.Threads is still very engagement-driven. Posting often and replying to others matters more than settings. For ads, there is not much to “configure” yet, it behaves mostly like IG. If organic is dead, ads will not magically fix it. It works better as a long-term visibility and interaction channel than a quick win right now.

No tips, just use the right keyword to reach your target audience. If your post has bad reach, do some seeding, ask some KOLs to repost your post

If that's the case, then there's a problem with my positioning; this platform isn't suitable for me. My target audience is mothers over 40 years old. I should close it down.

Focus on the key words and find ways to highlight them. People generally don't read things that are too long.
Keywords are indeed important, but I've also found that sometimes the copy doesn't need to be very long; short video content has made it difficult for people to focus on reading lengthy text descriptions.

Threads is more about conversation than configuration. Focus on authentic posts, interaction and building a small engaged community first ads only amplify whats already resonating.
I think I should dedicate some time specifically to interactive content, as interaction can lead to more effective growth.

Your suggestion is refreshing; I really should improve the quality of my posts to attract more customers.

my wife is getting alot of quality traffic organically by posting about student life. she provides chinese online tuition services. the ads didnt work out though on threads, Facebook and IG. she tries to find topics that gather alot of interest and stories. the promotion comes after the post has gone viral. so far her hit rate is about 1 in 30. only 1 post goes viral for more than 20k views. people want to read, and they like a casual informal tone

I find that Threads is currently best suited for organic branding, focusing on short, trending content that generates more interaction rather than expecting direct conversions.

From my experience, Threads still works best when you focus on organic engagement first rather than ads. Posting consistently, joining conversations early, and keeping content simple and relatable seems to help more than heavy optimization. Ads can work, but only after the account has some natural activity and trust built up.

I also think this target group is a better fit for Facebook.

I think condensing content into a single message and using strong keywords will capture the attention of the news feeder. A successful post is one that makes people stop to reply because of insightful perspectives or thought-provoking questions. Persistently position yourself in a specific niche with concise yet impactful content, instead of trying to write lengthy posts that nobody reads.
