Hey guys, i just want to ask, if anyone tested or know about how Threads works - for example i mean, if i buy aged threads without active instagram, will my reach be worse then if i create or buy IG where i will be active and put my foryou to my niche and then start to posting on threads ? Thank you for your help.

Threads is tightly linked to Instagram’s account graph and activity. If you use aged Threads without an active IG, reach is usually worse. Best results come from warming an Instagram first, posting and engaging in your niche, then using Threads. IG signals strongly affect early Threads distribution.

so the best is to start and warmup new ig and then create threads ?

Yes. Warm up the Instagram first for a few days or weeks, post and engage in your niche, then create Threads from that IG. Threads pulls signals from Instagram activity, so a warmed IG gives you much better initial reach.

Old IG accounts that aren’t active usually get worse reach on Threads.
Threads seems to favor accounts that already show engagement and niche relevance on IG.

Whether an account is old and well-established or new has no effect on its ranking. The content ranking system is completely random, because I registered an account, posted something 30 minutes later, and it immediately gained 200k views. There is very good viral traffic there.

There's probably more to Threads and IG than what's known, tbh. Accs linked to aged and active IGs still get a better push but whether this is just an initial push or consistent one needs testing (it's probably the former though).
Aged with low quality IG accs or inactive ones sees far less than that, etc. etc.
Threads is still a bit all over the place if I had to say so nothing quite set in stone yet but the IG linked to it is deffo a factor. Currently is anyway.

You want both of them active. In case one has an issue over the other, there might be an impact on reach. That being said, make sure that both threads and the Instagram profile is active.
