Recently I have lost my drivers license due to a speeding ticket that I have court on later this month. Today I decide to take out my wave runner and just have a good time, drive it to hooters and dock it there to get something to eat. The Wave runner and friends are my only transportation right now until I go to court for my license. So after 5 minutes of getting on the wave runner, I turn around and see boats with lights on it pulling me over.

long story short, they gave me 4 citations.

    1 for speeding
2 for not having a damn fire extinguisher on board
3 not having a whistle of blow horn on board.
    4. not having my registration with me

Allot of it is just bullshit crap, but still. $300 in citations, but atleast I made it to hooters chicken wing night, priceless.... :)

So the moral of the whole story, I guess no matter what motor vehicle I drive, I still get tickets and fined up the ass.

lmfao dude. last year i was below the boating age but i still went on my wave runner every day.one day i was riding and i see this cop start following me, so i jump into one of the lil canals in the swamps. of course the cop knew the waters so he went to the exit and waited for me. he asked "how old are you?" i told him i wasa 15 but explained how i completed the boating safety course so i could drive my small boat at age 14. then he asked me all these random ass boating questions then looked a me and went "well, have fun" and left

edit: a hooters on the water! thats sick, and im guessing you were booking it in a no wake zone?

Nice, he did not ask you to see fire extinguisher, whistle, any of that stuff?

know what is funny, the guy offered me a job after citing me. Told me that they are in need of new marine patrol officers. I basically gave him the fu#$ off look.

Yeah, it was a "slow speed" zone, I got out of the no wake zone no problem, did not feel like going slow through slow zone since it was only about 250 yards worth of slow zone until you get to resume normal speed zone. My luck, i got caught. He told me I can still go out on it today, but i have 24 hours to get everything i need to have aboard and if i get caught again after the 24 hours, then I will get another citation.

My lawyer will get it dropped, she works with me for free :)

Yeah, the most important thing to have on a boat is a fire extinguisher, because that's the only thing you can put out fires with when you're out on the water.

if the ski every catches fire your better of flipping it. really easy to do and it will put out the fire. skis are made to be flipped. (make sure you open engine comparment before you do this). so wat if your engine gets salty. just clean it off with freshwater wen your done. i could have the engine compartment open in 3 seconds and it flipped in another 2. thats faster then you will be able to think of how to use the fire extinguisher. with that speed you might have minimal damage to the engine
