I'm just wondering, why do companies have obsessive needs to put TM or © on their copy? They're like saying, "we own this word, we will sue your ass if you use it without our permission" Imagine if microsoft put ™ on every Windows word or number 10 on this page: https://www.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/features That page will look a million times uglier. It's kinda annoying to read a copy or article on the web and see ™ multiple times. What is the purpose anyway? If I write a random article online and use their trademark word without asking, will I get sued?
