their search engine is probably their least priority, they make their money in other ways (ads, direct payments by big companies for #1 rankings, etc). They couldn't care less about quality and user friendliness

Yup. Every time an update comes, the traffic goes to these websites and we lose some.

I mean, this is the black hat section on a black hat forum, so I guess this is what is considered to be the correct way. Probably the traffic will go back to the white hatters after the full roll-out so it's no biggie.
A lot of good authority websites are down. I can't imagine this continuing after April 5th.

I think the real question is how much money they make. The RPM should be very low but still conversions add up.What they will be doing and how long that will last

I'm aware of those websites and that thread. But maybe you haven't paid attention, this time there's no authority. The old ones had millions of backlinks, these ones have none or a few. Even if the backlinks are still pending indexing and it's early the weird thing is that the website ranked already without the backlinks.

Yet, no one could help any further without knowing the domain,
I work with a wide number of niches and one thing that i'm sure with tho is that many websites are getting traffic with little to no links,
The thing is, there are really mixed results, there are a ton of websites using irrelevant expired domains (as money sites) & getting enormous traffic,
I can't simply conclude that links are less relevant or important,
but seems like Google is giving some free pass to some of the new & less authority domains,
I don't have enough data to jump into conclusions,
One thing i'm aware of is many websites using expired domains 301s got completely burriend, especially with less niche relevant domains,
So, this is less likely the case

Exactly. Getting decent traffic on a small number of pages is not out of the ordinary in the beginning but they indexed tons of pages fast with little to no links, I guess at least RD didn't matter at all in this case.

Recently discovered a website with 7x more traffic than this one.
Domain has almost 0 authority and is not even in english (its targetting a foreign language that i wont specify).
The method used is basically 100k pages with autogenerated content. Site is loaded with ads everywhere (on every page and every section).
Also this website was basically dead since october 2023 and months later it literally exploded.
I wont get into details and wont share the site but this is nothing new. There are plenty of similar sites making bank right now. Question is how much time till it gets hit.

Yes and you can do some kind of autotranslation too from other sources.
