This too good to be true? 2 day old site and domain already ranking 13th for main keyword?

I setup an exact domain match site 2 days ago. I just checked my awstats only to find that there have been visitors from google! and saw that they had searched "my keyword" I checked and my site is on page 2 of google ranking #13 for my keyword.

This seems too good to be true. It's a fairly low competition keyword with med search volume. But I have never had a site get indexed so fast let alone rank for my main targeting keyword. The site has very good and specific on site SEO and exact domain match. Thats the only possible reason I can think of how it ranked so fast. But there has been absolutely NO promotion work done. Hopefully it sticks!

an EMD for a low comp. keyword will already be on page 2-3 even without onpage SEO :)

yeah I have had several EMD's in the past but it took them longer to rank. Shit...with a few good backlinks this site should hit 1st page.

It can happen, i have these alot on my exact match domains.

My advice for you know would be:

Hit the backlinking hard and i don't mean scrapebox or xrumer blasts or backlink blasts at all.

-I've found the best possible ranking method for these sort of sites is heading over to google blogs

    - search using related keywords (same niche keywords)

    - Looking at high traffic sites and page rank of the sites... try and find a list of say 25 page rank blogs per day.

    - Make a comment on those blogs that means something to those blog posts with your link and anchor text.

    - next book mark your comments you've made ;)

Trust me... google likes to see natural and the same velocity of links being added daily!

Hope you get it to number one soon.

No probs, it's exactly the method i use on most my sites.

Once i get to number one for the exact match domain keyword, start growing your micro niche into an authority site by targeting longtail keywords.... soon you'll be dominating that niche.

A pretty easy concept once you get used to it.

That's what I'm shooting for. Once I get to #1 for this main keyword it should be much easier to rank for all the other targeted keywords.

btw, when I get to the point of adding on longtail keywords, I have had a lot of luck recently with using the format of domain.com/longtail-keyword/ and setting the kw up as a folder with an index file.
in my testing, this format has worked better than domain.com/keyword.php

    Good luck to you!

I have had a few EMDs in the local market rank that quickly but I have also had a few rank quickly then disappear quickly...hopefully yours will stick. GL

I had a similar experience with an emd recently. within a week of creating the site I was getting 100uv a day without doing anything. The sites a couple months old now and still holding strong. Its been gaining links naturally lately so I haven't had to do anything. Pretty damn cool if you ask me. Never had this happen in the past and Ive built a few hundred sites, many of which had an emd. Must be something new in the algo...

Yes it is very possible because of low competition..

Traffic is traffic at the end so profit from it..

That also means you can propel it to top position very easily with whitehat seo..

so I would still boost it up with some SEO work

I too had this similar experience lately.

Yeah its funny I've only ranked number 1 for keywords with 2 sites. But guess what, they were the only sites I ever tried to get to number one. I had success both times.

This was without SEO. The first one was for Corian repair florida. I was number one for that for a long time with creativeintro.com but I don't do that site anymore and now its just a vista print site.

The other one was free dmv records. I was number one for a long time and all I did was buy two blasts from the silent.

So it can be very easy still to make number one for plenty of niches without heavy SEO. Its crazy but you can still just put up a site and really doesn't matter domain name, just that the content is right.

Keep us posted how things go. thanks.

Great to hear that this has happened before! My site only had 1 page rich with my main keyword as well as some other keywords I am targeting. I added another page to the site just about 20 mins ago targeting my secondary keyword so we'll see how this page ranks. Now that I have some true useful content I put up a cpa offer. Going to start some manual blog commenting tomorrow as well as some social bookmarking to get things heated up a bit. Will keep the thread updated!

Don't worry. They will bounce back. and you will cry then.:)

Google favors new sites for the first 2-4 weeks. I hope yours becomes an exception.
