Google has just updated it's policy and the changes will cause some problems for publishers rotating ads from both AdSense and a competitive network, such as Yahoo Publisher Network.

"If you are running YPN and AdSense on a 50/50 ad rotation using the same or very similar color palettes, you would now be in violation of AdSense policies. Likewise, if you are running AdSense on one part of your site, and YPN on another part, you would now also be in violation of the policies if you are using the same or similar color palettes,". The rules also apply to ad units that mimic AdSense, yet are not contextual based.

Damn I would hate to be the person that put up a couple thousand websites with both Google adsense and yahoo publisher..it would be a bitch to change all of the ads lol

I don't use YPN, only adsense so no problem here, but that would really piss me off if I did.

Romestar your right if you just use adsense your fine. But if you also use yahoo or another advertisement that looks like adsense you'd have to change it up. A simple solution would be the change the background colors on one of the ads from say white to black.

The man with the money makes the rules....Google can do pretty much whatever they want. I only use adsense so I am not affected. Even if I was, there is not a hell of a lot I could do about it anyway......
