They all require some kind of participation by the user. Read the fine print to find out exactly what they have to do. Most people don't bother to read that and when they don't get their gift, they send complaints.

Anyone who thinks companies will give out $500 of their product to every person who opts in, should quit IM.

     Summary of Frequently Asked Questions:
Q: How can you offer gifts?
A: We rebate advertiser dollars to consumers in the form of gifts. Our advertising sponsors cover the cost of the Free Apple iPad with the shipping and handling charges.

Q: Is there a fee to participate in this program?
A: There are no membership fees for joining. To get your gift, you must continue through the survey and complete participation requirements for sampling and purchasing products of interest.

After and only after you have jumped through all these hoops and maxed out your CC with free trial offers will you get the free gift.

This "free iPad requires you to complete a whopping 13 advertiser offers before you qualify.

    Here's the advertiser's gamble:

    1. They pay you, the publisher, $1.25 or so to get the end user's email.

    2. As soon as the end user completes the first couple of offers, they have made a profit. Most people will just simply give up when they learn that they have to give up their CC to continue.

    3. They collect commissions on every subsequent offer presented to the user, less the measly $1.25 they paid you for the traffic.

    4. They now have an optin subscriber to pummel with offers until the end of time.

Do the math. The approved Discover application alone pays $75. We all know Netflix pays $15-$18 on a free trial, and Video Professor was almost $50 last time I checked. Running an offer like this isn't all cake and ice cream, I'm just trying to give you a look at the bigger picture. :)
