I think for experienced internet marketers, this is not an issue. Yet, for newbies, it's a short guide that could guide them.
I hope this not a new guide would help someone here.

This short guide is not new, but if you missed it, you could carry on.

    Purpose of this guide
To build a complete niche site that you could monetize it with various ads platforms such as Amazon, Adsense, ClickBank, CJ or others.

The short summaries of the process
    1. Decide the niche
    2. Pick a topic inside that niche
    3. Do keyword research
    4. Use WordPress for the site base
    5. Add content
    6. Drive traffic (Organic and others)

Note: This is a short guide which will not contain full detail of each steps. Yet, you could ask if you're not clear in which case.

    1)- Decide the niche
It depends on your choice of suitable niche. Different people has difference favor.
To be precise, for me, I'd choose Fashion Niche.

2)- Pick a topic inside Fashion Niche
You could head over to these places to decide which sub-topic of Fashion Niche that you would like to base on:
    • Amazon.com
    • Ebay.com
    • Mysimon.com/sitemaps/all-shopping-categories?tag=footer
    • Warriorplus.com
    • Jvzoo.com
    • and load more ...
After shriving with them, I found a sub-topic about Clothing. Inside clothing sub-niche, I pick a type of clothing.
    That is "Pencil Skirt".

So, now I am in Fashion Niche > Clothing Sub-Niche > Pencil Skirt (the topic that I will create a site about)

    3)- Do Keyword Research
You could use Google Keyword Planner to do this tasks.
Yet for me, I am using LTP for the purpose of my this guide.

I put my main topic seed keyword into it. Look here:

There are about 35 keywords left with my filter. Therefore, I analyze it one by one and found this to be easy to rank:
    - Keyword: Pencil Skirt Outfits
    - Avg. CPC: $1.49
    - US Local Searches: 3,600
    - Ads: High
    - EMD: .NET & .ORG

    And these are its competitors:
    - The top 3 sites are just User Generated Sites. In my case, Pinterest.
    - No site aim this keyword
    - Even the 10th site is just Tumblr
    - Look at the stats! It's easy huh!

    SHOOT! I get it!

    4)- WordPress & 5)- Add Content
I think this is not mandatory to detail. You could find its guides over the net easily.
For content, you could write it yourself or outsource content writers. There are good amount of writing BST here.

    6)- Drive Traffic
For traffic, it'd be a long haul and should have its own thread about this. You could search here or there for this.
With this kind of easy to rank keywords + decent on-page and site optimization + decent quality of content + a few quality off-page links, you'd get to page 1 in no time.

For other traffic source beside SEO organic traffic, you could implement these platforms with effort:

    • Social Networks such as Pinterest, instagram, Facebook, Twitter ... etc.
    • Q&A sites. This also good quality of traffic
    • Forum. The more effort and quality engagement! The more decent visitors
    • We 2.0. Not just for link building but also a good source of traffic if doing well
    • Comment. Manually commenting on others high traffic relate blog could also lead to more traffic to your site
    • Guest Post. Not just for link building but also good if you could implement this
    • Article Marketing. Old school SEO tactic but this case I don't care about SEO but traffic
    • Web Directories. only submit to quality and decent related directories only
    • Slide, PDF, DOC marketing. There are good amount of traffic around here too
    • Video & Audio marketing. I doubt you don't know this about Youtube and Podcast ect.
    • Press Release. Not only good for SEO but also good source of traffic too
    • And many more ...
Above methods have there own detail & I just list them for your information.

Everything needs effort and no exception to online money making. If you have enough effort to do it, you will gain it in someday for sure.

As I mentioned, this is a short guide and I pick a real good example of keyword which is easy to rank.
"Pencil Skirt Outfits" is very easy to rank for the top 3 if doing right. It's easy at the time of this writing but I will see if someone pick this for there niche in the future. In addition, the EMD is also available for .NET & .ORG right now!

    To sum up:

    • You could buy a domain name i.e: www.pencilskirtoutfits.net or www.pencilskirtoutfits.org
    • [Pencil Skirt Outfits] is your main keyword
    • You could use [Pencil Skirt Outfits] to generate more keywords within this sub-sub-topic
    • Build the site around it
    • Monetize it
    • Rank it
    • Drive traffic to it
    • Bam BANK!
Easy Said than DO! But if you not do how would you know!

In my case, this is the demonstration of my site will look like if I do this niche but I'm not.

You are a legend, thank you so much!

I do have a few of questions though:
    1) What is a good rule of thumb to go by when choosing a niche eg. Minimum amount of monthly searches? Min. CPC? etc.
    2) Are there any free or cheaper tools like LTP (I know Google AdSense, but on a more detailed scale)?
    3) How do you know which monetization to use? When should you AdSense, Clickbank, AA etc.?
    4) I have Scrapebox, how would I utilise this tool in order to increase my SERP/PR?

Once again, you're an absolute legend! Thank you.

    1) What is a good rule of thumb to go by when choosing a niche eg. Minimum amount of monthly searches? Min. CPC? etc.
For my rule, I always choose the green niche which will get interested over and much more over time.
And yes, the amount of monthly searches is also very important because it's no use to waste time on something that has less or no interest at all.
Minimum CPC, I don't care about it if the niche is good enough with green power and has other alternate monetization.
For green powered niche you could use this: http://www.google.com/trends/explore
This is good example of greeny niche like my above guide:

    2) Are there any free or cheaper tools like LTP (I know Google AdSense, but on a more detailed scale)?
I don't actually have time to search for alternation, so I can't comment on this.

    3) How do you know which monetization to use? When should you AdSense, Clickbank, AA etc.?
This is depend on the split testing of each monetization methods because each site has different effect on which method is the best.
Mostly, I always think first before go hunting for the niche.
If I want to use Adsense for a site, I will search for niche with high CPC.
If I want to use ClickBank, I would search for the products and niches within the ClickBank zone etc.
To sum up this, think first before finding. But, it's better to split test to see which platforms work better.

    4) I have Scrapebox, how would I utilise this tool in order to increase my SERP/PR?
As of now, I don't have any SEO Tools in my hands; therefore, I can not comment on this, too.
Yet, as I've learned about them, ScrapeBox is better at scraping for high quality links to manually built as a good source of links juices. Do not use ScrapeBox for comment blasting to your money site nor your site will get punished hard.
I am planning to buy it to test it first!

    Hope this help!

Checking Google trends- great tip. Good straight forward guide :)

Edit: Also, you chose a KW that had high competition. Meaning that a lot of advertisers would be bidding on it. So does this mean you'd have a lot of related ads showing up on your website instead of some random ones..

Honestly, you could start with just free Google with browser extension as such SEOQuake if the budget is tied. It's just a tool to make the process faster and easier in one place.

For Long Tail Platinum, I don't favor monthly service; I don't like automatic calculation for the competitors strength. I don't think it worth the money to subscribe to the monthly service which is Long Tail Platinum. For LTP, I think it worth for a one time fee.

Awesome guide! Thanks for the tips. Everyone designs sites a little differently and I always enjoy comparing their ideas with my own. We're all here to make money right? Definitely appreciate the post OP.

That is a very good guide to get the ball rolling for folks... simple enough to understand, no major algorithms to figure out and a nice example to boot.

    Very nice, Vanrithy!

Now, how many people are going to be looking at pencil skirts as a niche now?

Yes, you're right! Always aim for .COM first but if .COM not available .NET & .ORG are the backups and it's not bad!
.NET or .ORG could even ranks higher than .COM if you do well. For me, it's a matter of the quality including on-site and off-site.
For those who want .COM one, just make a slight alteration with this. For me, EMD is still my choice of small niche site creation.

This niche won't be easy to rank anymore I guess! Plus, the EMD domain will not be available, too in this near future! :D

    Next one is rolling up!
