Hi - I'm a newbie, but came across something really interesting about UK eBay that doesn't exist on US eBay AFAIK, and that is that all eBay businesses have contact details on their listing at the bottom. (Maybe everyone on this forum already knows this, but it was a revelation to me.) Many vendors just put their name and email addresses, but some provide mobile numbers and addresses. So it was a simple matter to create a script to scrape them all. And the UK doesn't have a CANSPAM Act that means you can contact people out of the blue for legitimate business reasons so long as you don't continue to spam them. So - my thinking was that I can find a lot of eBay sellers - I can find sellers who have had products that have failed to sell - I can filter by product types, and then get in touch offering eBay marketing services. I pointed them at my shiny website with lots of hints and tips, free downloads, and of course, affiliate products - and ------- nothing. It seems no-one is interested I tried emails and I tried texts. So that approach doesn't work - and I'm not as much as a newbie as I was at the start. The question is: has anyone any thoughts about whether there is there a germ of an idea here, and how it might be turned to something useful (and profitable)?
