So I saved up some cash.
    I have $10,000 in total.

I'm thinking of picking up a car for like $11,000 - $12,000 and pulling it down to $10,000 if I give them all cash right away. My question is... what should I go for? Or where do I search? I know once in a while people sell there cars because they are leaving the country, something came up, for one reason or another...

So what sites do you people usually look at?

That is the site I look at for buying a used auto. They actually have some good deals you just have to look. Probably could pick up a nice mercedes for $10k.

if you are looking to invest in a car from craigs list you need to put aside some mula to have a real mechanich (a compresion test mandatory) check the car and run a car fax cause you never know where the car has been.
    good luck

It all depends on what kind of car you want. If you only have 11 grand, I'd suggest getting a japanese car that has cheap insurance, great mileage and is cheap to repair. Also, like stated above, make sure to take it to a mechanic or AAA station and pay the 100 bucks or whatever it costs to do a full check. Trust me, it's not a cost, it's an investment!

Check craigslist, or just local dealers. I know they charge more at the dealer, but you also get a warranty.
