I was thinking about going back to the UK for business purposes, but honestly its soooo fucking cheap, I am tempted to stay abroad for a little while longer.

Anyone wanna join me? I'm in Spain right now - My tenancy ends next Monday (7th of Sep) and will go to South East Europe then me thinks.

These Airbnbs are in the middle of nowhere. No wonder they are so cheap. The real question is: Can you stay in such small towns for a month? I could never, especially alone. You should check out some bigger cities (will still be cheap I think).

I think at the moment it is probably the best time to find decent Airbnbs. Especially on islands in Spain, some tourist places in Croatia, Turkey etc.

During April, May and June I was living in some awesome Airbnbs in South Korea (Seoul and Busan), which normally wouldn't even be available...and I got to live there for half the price just because nobody could/wanted to travel.

I can do 30 days in the middle of nowhere - so long as there are shops and a few amenities and I have access to the interwebz... I could be in a tent in the sahara desert. Makes no difference to me.

You should focus on more central areas.

Rural areas have disadvantages as well. I'm sure the internet cut offs or even some electricity problems are not rare in these areas.

So you should consider thoroughly before you move in. Even maybe asking people who live in these countries / areas will give you a better perspective if this place is good for your needs.

There are sites that give you the advantages and cons specially for nomads people, you should search on google.

Part of the fun is just jumping and figuring it out when you land :D

Though a little research before hand is always good.

Just don't forget to check out the most up to date rules regarding traveling to the destination country. The situation can change quickly. The second wave is getting stronger and stronger in Europe, stricter restrictions will eventually come, especially for non-EU citizens. For instance starting from tomorrow with a few exceptions you can't enter, where i live, Hungary as a foreigner. If you want to return to the country as a citizen, you either go to quarantine for two weeks or you need to provide 2 negative virus tests on your own expense, a few hundred bucks. Bosnia and Herzegovina might have similar restrictions.

Let's say you can enter the destination country, but it can be, that you will need to provide negative tests on your own expense. The cheap accommodation can become expensive.

You should visit all ex Yugoslavian republics.

First of all, it's cheap and in most places, you'll get treatment like you at some 5-star hotels!

Right now you can find some really amazing places, I would recommend mountains.

Cheap - yes
Shithole - yes (location i mean, not the apartment itself)

Don't forget that there are lot of scams on AirBnB.

I mean, no way you're getting the place from the pictures for $100/month in Bosnia--regardless of the exact location. Likely when you arrive to the place you see the apartment is way different than on the pictures.
Bosnia is not a thirld world country mate ;).

In any case, keep on going. No reason to go back to rainy UK right now. In September the weather is the best in the places where you consider traveling. Just don't do that 30/month apartment in Russia :D. We want to see you here , not in the news :D.

JUST DO IT.....

If you're single and no kids etc, you might as well do it and explore.
I was thinking of the same thing, if you are single, go end enjoy.

Even where @Veil123 celebrates his birthday a few days ago was brilliant, but I don`t tell him because he will act cocky like always. This is Ohrid's lake.

Europe is by far the most beautiful continent, you just need to explore more the basics as most known holiday places.

Something is fishy with the first apartment you listed. The user just signed for airbnb and it could be scam. Aside that, Trebinje is good location as Dubrovnik and beautiful Adriatic coast is just 20 minutes away. In my big city in the same part of Europe people pay around 250 to 300 euros monthly rent for 30-40 sqm apartments, so apartment in Trebinje, especially in Covid19 times and with huge drop in tourism, could be found for 150-200 euros a month.

Ohrid is beautifull, but the problem with this nice but small and secluded European destinations is the winter time. It's not like this during the winter. It's grey, cold, muddy, windy, snowy and not really attractive.

Sounds like London in the height of summer

I can highly recommend to go to Trebinje (Bosnia) for that price, you will be treated like king in all ex Yugoslavia.
From Trebinje you are not far from Dubrovnik a MUST visit and also not far from Bay of Kotor in Montenegro also a MUST visit! :) ;)

Best place I have ever been. Ridiculously cheap. 3usd for a meal in a good restaurant. Soft drink 80 cents.
