Thinking about getting a new phone, what are some essentials I need to think about?

    Hi Everyone,

I am in desperate need of a new phone. My plan is to buy a phone out right and go on a plan with a company called amaysim. 5GB's a month with unlimited other stuff except for international SMS so it's good for heavy use and better than what I am getting with my current plan. I am living in Australia right now

My question is what sort of phone should I get/ What should I look for in a phone ( I have had both android and apple phones in the past and honestly I don't feel inclined either way, I use an Asus laptop that runs windows 7 though)

What sort of Apps should I look at? I am already inclined to have ones like lastpass, udemy, youtube, facebook, instagram and linkedin but I am wondering if there are any other useful apps to help keep me more organised.

If you get an Android, here are some useful apps I use:

    • Google Analytics (for checking your website stats)
    • Google Adsense (for checking your Adsense income)
    • Checkbook (for managing your money)
    • ColorNote (for taking notes)
    • Paypal (if you use Paypal, you'll find this useful)
    • Polaris Office (for opening documents)
    • Wordpress (for managing your Wordpress site)

    • Thanks Thanks x 1

Much appreciated mate :) I have just been looking at phones on the internet. It seems like an android would suit me better but I am going to wait until I can go in and actually check the phones in store.

including these you must check for other options like battery life, looks and brand name !

Battery life is a huge thing for me, it sucks that I can barely make it through one day without needing to charge my phone. Makes me miss the old nokias. Granted it depends a lot on what you are using your phone for but the longer the battery life the better.

If you do alot of RDP, you should consider a larger phone such as the note 3 or similar since its much easier to RDP on than a smaller phone.

What does RDP stand for? is it something about remote desktoping? I don't really use that right now but I could see how that might be useful

Side note I am terrible at trying to post multi quotes on here
