    Hey guys,

Yesterday I had a few ads posted on CL, and was driving traffic with emails in reply to the responses to a CPA offer. At $27 a lead, the reports page refreshes was a wonderful sight to see. 100 signups in just about 3 hours and I had already started making plans for investing more money on more CL posters and tools and stuff.

My AM popped up suddenly. "The counter is rolling up fast, good job", he said. "I can give you more offers like these. That pay you like over $100 a signup. But for that I must know the actual source of the traffic". I knew that CL was find with this company, so I told him its from CL. He asked me what sort of ads I post and what sort of replies I send, and I gave him all the details.

I post in the jobs section, and reply to everyone asking them to take an IQ test (or whatever it is that I was promoting). The AM said "Great, I'll see what I can do :)", and he went offline. WTF, I thought. I had more questions for him.

Two minutes later, I refreshed the reports, and guess what happened.......... BANNED. $2700 just gone, also hopes of making more money from that particular offer.

So I would like to request the Veterans here to tell me and the others like me the Things You Should Never Tell Your AM.

Nah not every network, You just gotta know which networks allow CL traffic and which dont. I have some account managers that are very cool with CL traffic as long as the advertiser doesn't find out.

my network is OK with CL guys. They had told me this when I signed up. I still don't understand why they banned me when I was bringing them good business for them and myself.

would he have not liked the idea that I have been exploiting the job seekers and misleading them and making them signup, and not sending people who are really interested in the offer to signup?

    Just to explain:

No, not every network is going to can you for CL traffic but as a general rule, never, ever tell them any more than they need to know at any given time.

Come to think of it, that rule applies to pretty much everything.:)

The Networks want to make money as long as the advertiser is happy. was this a CC offer? if not then the advertiser would have started asking questions before paying you and mostly likely would not have payed you if they were not making any money off of it. The advertisers track the health and education offer closely.

It's not their business to know the source of traffic if it's converting on the advertiser's end. I can see why they would ask, though. Sorry this happened to you. Fake your referrer and keep it low key, bud.

What, do they blatantly stated in the TOS that they allows CL traffic?

Have you tried to email your AM so far?

Wow you made $2700 in 3 hours?

If that is really the case then you should just forget about it and move onto another network and get to work.

I always tell my affiliate managers that the traffic is from CL before I send them a single hit. If they don't want the CL traffic then screw them, I got plenty of places that want my traffic. If you tell them upfront its CL traffic and have chat logs of them confirming that its ok, or emails, they are not likely to try to screw you later on.

    @moto801

is that bad? i had about 400 leads from CL, i drove everyone to the offer, and 100 of them signed up. should I have increased the earnings gradgually?

actually I hate the process of getting into an affiliate company. it is really tedious. application, calls, chats etc etc. A few days I thougth that I should be hiring an Affiliate Manager for myself who would manage all my affiliate accounts if I manage to get into too many.

I think there are things that they tolerate, but need to be able to deny top their advertisers if they are asked. They have to be able to say that they don't know. If you tell them, especially via a medium that can be recorded easily and is likely to be reviewed (corporate email or IM system) then they may have a legal obligation to shut you down whether they want to or not. It all depends what their legal department has counseled them.

Letting them know, in writing that you are violating CL's TOS is never gonna be a good thing. They may be forced to take action even if they dont want to.
