So 2012 is coming to an end, it is time to reflect on what have we done in the past 12 months. What worked, what didn't, what moments frustrated you the most, what were some "eureka!" moments, what software can be tossed out the window, what software is good to use, what sites are good to look at, bloggers good to follow, etc. Since I'm the creator of this thread I guess I can get the ball rolling. Two things that come to my head right away (and I'm sure I will think of more things as time goes by): 1. If I couldn't do something, or it was time consuming I out sourced it. Sometimes I lost money, sometimes I made money, but I rather have a professional do it in 1/4th the time of what it would take me AND in most cases not even charge that much because they do it so quickly that it comes naturally to them (I'm talking about in this case coding websites, and editing simple videos). 2. Another thing which still boggles me is how much I charge for graphic design. I use to charge $22/hr, and was always looking for clients. After listening to some material, I started to charge $97/hr (year... x4!) and not only have my client list increased, but so did how much money is in my pocket. Something about "perceived value" and how people think they are getting a better deal when they are paid a premium price.
