What are some things I need to get a website started? I know that I will need to hire people for the following jobs... build a website, articles, Seo, and probably buy an ad space. Am I missing something? I know I am, could someone inform me? (NEWBIE)

You can build it yourself, its not the difficult, if you never built one before weebly is free and a good way to get started.

You remember me when I still was trying to figure out what FTP is... :)

    1. Get decent cheap hosting from some reputable web hosts (not Hostgator, 000Webhost)
    2. Get yourself a good FTP program like Filezilla
    3. Find a good script that suits your needs
    4. Upload your website and configure everything[...]
    5. Do the SEO yourself. Build quality backlinks from high PR sites.
    6. If you got some money to spend, hire some freelancers on BHW or oDesk (beware on oDesk though, you need to weed out all the trash there to get the best)
    7. Buy cheap ad spaces on aged websites if you got some extra xxx's to spend. Otherwise, just focus on building quality backlinks and the diversity of backlinks.

    Best of luck. :)

Baby steps. I would try to find somebody willing to setup/install a simple WordPress website for you for free. Some people will do this if you register a domain and buy your web hosting via their affiliate link. Do this first, then you can worry about articles and SEO.

Hey I was once in your shoes here are the steps you should take...

    1. Before you build your site, pick a niche and keywords you want to focus on by doing research use google adwords tools, google trends, ahrefs, and even check out some guides here on bhw just use the search button)
    2. Think of what kind of monetization methods you want to go with (adsense, cpa, banner ad sells or something else)
    3. Consider the vision of the site like is it going to be made an authority site (one with lots of info on a particular niche that you plan to keep or something you want to flip)
    4. Once you have established steps 1-3, then work on building a site, register a domain but look for sales like right not GoDaddy has a $2.95 domain registeration special and although someone suggested not to use Hostgator, I use them for all of my sites and they are available 24 hrs plus there is usually 1 cent promo code floating around online you can use for your first month of hosting.

    5. I would also say use wordpress, especially if you do not code because there are alot of helpful plugins, templates and easy to edit/update content.

I hope that helps, if you need anymore help hit me up through PM I will help you anyway I can. I wish you well.

Don't underestimate the importatnce of these first few steps. If you don't get it right here the rest is pointless.

Quality content, images, a professional looking slider perhaps?
Maybe some video, social media icons linking to your established pages, etc.

    I certainly will.(Hostgator, Bluehost).

But before that you need some idea of what kind of website you want to build, is it for adsense, selling various products as an affiliate, direct retail sales, lead generation, small business, or whatever.

The type of site will dictate the type of content.

This is very true. In my case I just went ahead with doing a website because I knew the rest of the steps (getting the wordpress up, themes, etc.) but it would fail because the plan was wrong from the start.

Install WordPress and get yourself a good theme. You might check the member downloads section of BHW to pick one that fits your needs.

I was thinking of maybe building a weight loss niche where I could probably use for affiliate and to sell products. I have been up all night researching and trying to figure how I was going to monetize this website.

I could probably try to build the website myself... but I know for sure I am going to have to pay someone to write me at least 10 articles.

Just a friendly advice bro, if you are new in website building, don't go for weight loss niche. There are a lot of other niches also where you can get good returns(actually 10000s). If you fuck up niche research then you won't earn anything.

First you need to find a good domain name that's easy to remember and doesn't have too many characters. Next find a hosting service that best fits your needs, it should have a decent amount of bandwidth and space for you to upload stuff. After this I'd start hiring people.
