    Hi

I'm looking for some help from the SEO community.

I have a website with over 100,000 product pages, many of which are very similar and I fear could trigger a 'thin content' Panda penalty from Google.

The normal way of dealing with this is by using 'canonical' tags and adding content to the main product pages.

However, would these alternative methods be considered white, grey or black hat. And do you have any other suggestions, to deal with this huge number of thin pages:

    1. Use frames within the pages to hide the duplicated content from Google?

    2. Use Javascript within the pages to call the content which would hide this from Google?

    3. Have 5 text sections on each page. Each section will consist of text coming from a central database. Each section will be randomly generated from say 20 pieces of text in the database. Therefore, 5 sections on the page, each with a choice of 20 random texts will produce multiple webpages that are randomly different to each other.

    4. Use an image to replace the text on the page.

    Thanks for your help

    John

All of the options are fine but maintaining such a huge website is always an issue in itself.
