I live next to the largest industrial park in the usa, highest concentrations of businesses anywhere, if anyone wants to work together in some capacity feel free to reach out to me.
Will do bro tnx! Lead gen mainly, you can offer everything though, social media services, seo whatever as long as you know how to sell ull do good sure! tnx bro will update Exactly. had to "fire " some customers myself. thank you! will do I dont sell seo, but local seo sounds like easy money to me. its just easier to rank than 'regular' seo Who told you I got 1 sale? lol I already have customers just got excited cuz this one is a big one. And you obviously dont know what you're talking about. Getting 1 or 2 customers is the HARDEST part because youre just starting out, and they want to see previous work sometimes, and they ask questions that sometimes you wont know how to answer... So after you get 1-2 clients IMO everything becomes easier cuz you're like "look what I did for Joe! hes killing it with us..." dont know how long u been doing it but relax mate you're not the only one that knows what hes doing ^_^ Great question. I love writing something extremely casual and NOT formal thats what most people miss. ill write an example for social media agencies for instance, lets say we approach a guy that owns a restaurant. "hi john im xxx with xxx.com, we provide social media services. I actually eat at your restaurant regularly and I love the food, you guys are doing a great job there! I took a brief look at your facebook page and it seems like you're barely getting any engagement, definitely not congruent with your restaurants potential! I actually attached a quick report on things you guys should fix and would love to meet and talk about how me and my company can help you improve your social media presence and get you more customers... Is that something you'd be interested in? Best, XXX" Of course I made this up I dont provide SMM yet, but you get the picture. tnx Bro! Absolutely.! I agree mate! direct mail also works good with local businesses, im actually going to get a package together and ill come to the appointment with a contract, all he has to do is simply draw with his pen on it Look at the email I Wrote above, I would even do a small report on the site and what needs to change, if u have the time attach a sketch on how its going to look like and whats the BENEFIT. Remember: sell the BENEFIT. business owners dont give a flying fuck about 'being 1st on google' they want the BENEFIT of it, which is getting more customers. they dont want you to build a "landing page" they want more leads. makes sense? Thanks mate! nothing goes easy for me believe me, I work too hard, wish I finally caught a break lol.. Im not gifted, I mumble a lot with business owners and I got an accent. My English is far from perfect. I still sell them, they dont care about your English, they care about the benefit you bring them. If you cant sell, and dont want to learn, you can hire someone that will sell for you. What is "this"? Im not talking about "Hi Sir, we're a very very big design firm we own half of India Sir would you like to buy web design"? im talking approaching very local business owners, getting an appointment and meeting them face to face. Do it!!! keep me posted on how it goes Where do u live?
Yup you are right, but soon enough there won't be any local SEO. Just Google "plumbing san diego" You'll see a new form of ads, then you have 4 more ads, local map (also with ads), and then, then almost on page 2, you have some organic results usually taken off by Yelp, homeadvisor and some other empires. I think it's gonna be dead soon enough (at least my Opinion). If somebody can think the opposite, please I would love to counterattack this part of my brain that local SEO is dead.
you are right but i prefer to learn my stuff before selling my service to others. a lot of seos dont rank anything but sell links in marketplace anyway LOL
Posted a thread maybe around 6 months ago talking about how I wanted to get into local and @zionbar gave me some good pointers then. Not looked back since. The bar to get into local seems a lot 'lower' and easier to provide value to IME - just make sure you can actually get results and succinctly demonstrate value. Cold email works but don't be scared to pick up the phone, hell even show your face or something else that will make you stand out from the crowd. OP knows his sh*t and glad to hear he's doing well
Remember just because the business seems bigger it does not mean that they're willing to spend more money on Advertising whatever you want to push them. From experience I can tell you from Fortune 500 companies even small subsidiaries within that Fortune 500 but they had so small budgets that you were laughing and a company that no one here would probably have heard of was spending a million dollar a month on AdWords. Good luck
Thanks bro. let me make things clear though - im never ever suggesting that you should sell local businesses online, especially when starting out. MEET THEM. MEET THEM. MEET THEM. hope I made that clear lol bro i just threw a few k on crypto it was never my full time thing... made profit btw but im out for now. ok so read the update at the end of this post thank you brother. Update: I really feel like you guys supported me so thank you everybody that commented. I got mind-boggling news, I got a deal thats worth over $10K, plus the guy wants me to replace the current companies hes working with (im being discrete because I dont want more competition, I cant reveal EXACTLY what is it im doing for him) Anyway - he spends on this service around $500,000 a freaking MONTH. I got to give it all to this deal and ill freaking do everything to crush it, the guy is definitely the real deal and listen to what he told me - "listen dude, I never get these emails even forwarded to me. BUT my employee (the one that filters the emails) saw your email, and because it was so simple she decided to forward it to me. I read it and thats why I gave you a call." So guys - be down to earth, speak the truth and dont over-complicate things. In fact he wanted to give me more business but I told him "NO, lets start slow and scale" It took balls to say that and he appreciate that. Didnt want to take more than I can swallow and then ruin the whole thing - thinking long term. Anyway guys - local biz have a lot of NEED and money to give you, help them out, and they'll be glad to pay. Z
list the issues with their current site (not mobile compliant) and show them examples of better sites.
There are SEO agencies out there doing 6 figures a month who believe linkbuilding doesn't work. The money is easy and the economy is great. No excuses.
Exactly. im not doing SEO but people are making money with providing SHITTY services that provide very little value I personally know someone who sells "facebook advertising" to small businessess What she does is = create this little banner design with your local business info and posts it in groups in facebook. She charges local biz 300-500$ a month... lol. you can literally get a few VAs and make a six figure months a month business just out of that crappy service.
I turned down a job as Director of SEO for a multimillion dollar marketing agency when, during the interview, the CEO of the company started asking me about how Pagerank and Panda factors into my link building decision making. I popped this dude's PBN cherry as well. He didn't know what a PBN was.
ha! ha! are the banners image files (.jpg)? or are the banners plain text? i wonder how much new business she generates for the companies. she re-bills each company monthly?!? that girl is going places!
Lol, yep. she does and she really doesnt know much about IM. She doesnt have a website, and doesnt know how to run a fb ads campaign (i know, i was shocked too) That brings me to another great point by the way In order to be an "expert" in these business owners eyes, you dont need to know EVERYTHING, you just need to know more than they do (which in 99% of the cases will happen. after all, you're a member of BHW and they're not lol)
Yeah, I posted about this back in 2015 when I first started working with local businesses outside of California (many of the local businesses here are either broke or run by clowns). https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/how-i-made-3-000-on-a-three-day-business-trip.746483/ It can be lucrative if you live in an area rife with businesses that aren't broke.
