Seriously, if you dont work with local businesses you're missing out..

I reached out to some local business owners, got a meeting tomorrow with a guy that owns 6 companies in different states...[guy makes a few mill / year]

Sent him a cold email (always email first to pre-qualify btw)
He called me and asked for info, after 2 min of convo he said -
"can you come to my office tomorrow at 4 ?"

of course I replied "abso-f***-lutely" right away... actually had plans but ill cancel them..

Guess I need to buy something to wear, used to working in my PJs..lol

But seriously, I think we have been ignoring local businesses for too long.

Yeah building websites and making money with affiliate marketing / doing all these
"let me be on my laptop and never meet people" kind of methods work great..

but when you approach local businesses its almost like theyve been waiting for you...

Wether you do SEO or webdesign or lead gen, social media or whatever.. once you meet them face to face and offer them a service, explain how it can grow their business and actually provide value.. its just an easy sale and u can make thousands of $$$

    So much potential..

Also if you think about it, lets say you own an SEO agency, instead of randomly emailing people around the globe and competing with 10 million other agencies, you can just go to your local pizzeria, talk to the owner Joe and get his business...

Anyway, hope I motivated anyone to take some action!
and wish me luck tomorrow... !

    Z

Do you buy PBN links for them or run tier campaigns? I'd be nervous to do SEO for local businesses because i'd be afraid to de-index their site. It seems like you either need to have a PBN you really trust, or you need some outreach team system that can get legit links? Both expensive?

So you got one sale and are saying that it's the best shit in the world?

I won't lie, getting clients is the best thing in the world, but getting one or two is the easiest part. Getting a couple and getting them to stay onboard for a long period of time is the harder part. The stress that comes with expectations and replying on time is hard mentally. This is the reason why I quit doing client work and would rather just sell, sell, sell instead of dealing with the same clients over and over for a long time.

I haven't had any luck emailing businesses directly. Seems like the time I get responses on cold emails is when I send them to other SEO/PPC agencies and offer my services as an independent contractor. Maybe I'm doing something wrong?

Thats the beauty of local SEO - you actually know the business you are looking to e-mail. For example if is restaurant in your town you can go with:

"Hey I was at your place few days ago and this and this dishes was pretty good, also the service we received by our waitress Joan was outstanding! I think that more people need to learn about your place and unique atmosphere you have there - As Internet marketing specialist I can help you with that by improving your online presence, social media and bla bla, if you want we can arrange a phone call or meeting to discus how I can be helpful to your business bla bla"

Obviously you cannot visit every place you are cold calling, but at least you can make a research before sending the e-mail. The more personalized is, the more responds you will have. Forget about sending the same e-mail to everyone, that wont work.

Yeah usually I'll send something like "Hello [owner's name], I noticed you were on page2/3/4/whatever of Google for [keyword], while your competitor is on the first page and is getting [traffic stats from SEMRush] visits per month to his site. If you'd like, I can send you a free report showing how you can be on the first page too! Here are a few examples of what I've been able to do for other businesses like yours" and then I'll include screenshots of other places in their industry I've gotten into the map pack or in the first few spots of the SERPs. I'm mostly targeting health related companies, so visiting most of them really wouldn't be feasible for me.

I've got a spreadsheet with sites I believe could benefit from a redesign. Some are in my country and others aren't.

Whats the best way to approach this kind of potential customer?

selling, convincing people face to face is a skill, not everyone has it. I have met people who are gifted, but not everyone can do this very well.
