So I've got a "An unauthorized account activity claim was recently filed against the following transaction" surprise from Paypal for the software I sold to some guy. I sold it on November 30, and today BAM... The first thing I did was to cancel the asshole's license and wrote him an e-mail that according to my rules in case of Paypal dispute I'm well... canceling his license - in a very polite and informative way. I've sold this item through e-junkie, got the e-mails and .csv logs from e-junkie, will they be any help in this case? What should I do? It's not a big amount of money, and I already cancelled his license, should I screw it and refund the money? I have some history on Paypal, Premier account, I don't they're gonna limit my account because of one scammer....
You never know with paypal... But if I were you, I would defend yourself. Let paypal know what happened. If you win the dispute, don't give the asshole his license back, he doesn't deserve it.
you can kiss your money good bye...99% of time if the buyer claims that transection was unauthrozed and transection was made from a NEW computer (which had never been used to log into buyers account before) Buyer will get a refund. Its just about your word agianist theirs and paypal always favour buyer. if you call them they will tell you that DIGITAL PRODUCT sellers are not covered so they cant do anything about fruad. I wish there were other options out there but there are not. Dont worry about account limitation as you never know what the criteria is. Thanks
Yep...that's what I thought...ehh screw it. I guess it happens from time to time, part of a business with Paypal... Good thing I've implemented that protection.
Issued a refund - case closed...fuck that arsehole BTW: how cheap someone must be to actually try to scam hard working developer for an amount worth few beers...LOL People...
