There is no such thing as passive income

It is only passive after it is built, which is a lot of work. Whether its an online store, or capital investment, or whatever, no money fountain is easy to build. And then, you'll spend time building more after that, so you're never really done. It is all about working towards growth rather than maintenance.

Let me tell you one passive income. I generated some refferals on a site and they will give me income for life. Currently it is $100 per month. If I count for 30 years it will be $36000. All this without needing to do anything now.

and you think the same customers will keep using the service the next 30 years (if it even still exists by then) ?
with rev share, its passive yes, but you still have to keep getting new customers in order to profit longterm.
i also have passive income from adult rev share offers from users that i got years ago, but some of them will vanish.

Honestly, it depends on what business you're in.

Crypto niche. They will keep buying / selling till crypto exists and they have jobs giving them money to invest. Also the number of refferals will keep increasing because of the method I use even if I don't do anymore work. If I put more work, the number would increase faster.

Don't you guys think passive income is a myth?

People say real estate is a passive income maker but many people could not afford to pay rent

Would love to hear your thoughts on this
real estate is a passive income maker
but it isn't available to majority of the population.

You either make too little money due to a loan to call it something decent
or the upstart cost is too much for the working class to invest in

Having a large capital, you can generate passive income with investment funds. Or you can also lose that great capital.

crypto yield farming could be the best , yesh it need some initial investment , but it can be your road to moon , if u get it right

That's right, nothing is truly passive but anything that takes an hour a week is generally considered passive too.

You buy and rent out an apartment. The property manager might call you in case if something breaks or the tenant messes up so you have to talk to them and fix that stuff.
Takes about an hour per every(worst case scenario) but it's considered passive.

The same goes for the books. You write a book and publish it. Once the initial marketing and promotion, you collect royalties and future plans(about an hour per week max) and that's considered passive as well.

These are the worse case scenarios, while the tenant might be a cool tech employee paying the rent every month, not bothering petty issues and getting things fixed himself. In that case, you don't have to spend a single minute for years. Same with a good publisher where he takes care of everything and sends you the royalties every month so you don't do anything.

So, things like these could be considered passive where you don't necessarily invest hours every week and the money still arrives in your bank account.

there is my friend
Iv been making passive income for years now
The only thing is ppl dont get the concept
I do agree that there is no income without work
But u can spend some time building an asset in advance and then make a lot of money with very little effort
Like my amazon business for instance

Depends on business, knowledge, and luck.

It takes a lot of time, effort, some money invested, and a little luck to get there.

People have passively disfigured the word over the last few years with their personal fictional myths about their passive earnings, which has been reflected in thousands of stupid books about it.

Imagine, you pay to learn how to get passive income?

Anyway, it exists it can just take a lot of time to get there... Even then, the question is, how much work people really put in, most will say "I don't work anymore and I just count the money" which tbh, is possible but in most cases it's BS.

I remember my first experience of passive income was ordering a cd with my mom at about 12 years old. Multiple streams of income by Robert G Allen.
If only I was allowed a mortgage with my paper round money, I could have built a real estate empire!

I think passive income comes with the law of diminishing returns, that is it might be good at the moment, but it will either quickly or slowly decay as you earn less. You have to 'top up'.

You first have to create/purchase the asset, then you can get passive income from it, for example royalties on books.

But you are a fool if you just leave it, as it will eventually stop.

So, like anything you need to maintain it.

It varies with the stream of income.

If you have to deal with customers, it won't ever be passive.
A good chunk of money invested in stocks may very well be passive.

Dividend stocks, Masternodes, Staking Coins, Crypto Lending (though it can be risky!)
Those need almost no effort, but they require some initial capital and come with market / inflation risks.
Price appreciation usually causes your income to grow in relation as well, but it might require patience over a longer time period.

only if you use hyips

For 3 years i had apps on Google play making me good money from admob ads revenue, that's passive income, i do nothing beside paying for a Google play account, making the apps, choosing a non saturated profitable niche, wait a couple of months for the apps to get a decent amount of organic downloads and users and lay down and get a paycheck every month. Ofc later Google disabled my account and I moved to other projects but that was a great passive income method.
