Should I buy a website from somebody who provides a guide, SEO, articles/keywords/hosting and all the stuff that makes it sound too good to be true? Would I learn a lot this way?

I have a great idea for a website I am already working on. It'll be a website I have a passion for and I'm not worried about making money with this website, eventually I'll get organic traffic as people will find it extremely resourceful. It fills a gap in the google search that many people are searching.

I'm just curious if it's a good idea to buy a "micro niche adsense" site or something similar as a newb, or should I try keep reading? Obviously straight up asking for ideas has been a thread everyone has seen before?

By the way, what up?! I'm in Denver smoking hash about to look for food then come back here :) I've learned a lot already I'm pretty hopeful that something good will come along within a year and by three to five years maybe I can make a livable income out of IM.....

Edit: I understand I am one of many many people hoping to make money, I'm just looking for some direction :)

I think as a newb, it's easy to fall into the trap of wanting to try everything. Don't. If you've already started down the path of building a site, look into more information on how to use SEO and social media to your advantage. The stickies are always a great place to start. Check out some threads by guys like t0mmy and BassTrackerBoats for some great guidance and inspiration.

Thank you for your input, I hope to hear more. That website will be a literal passion of mine that I hope to monetize, besides that I'm hoping to make money on other things as well. I'm building my IG followers with Instagress for my old facebook page that is a hippie niche. Just hoping to possibly monetize off of instagram through contests with CPA requirements for entry or shoutouts or anything...

Well you have a bunch of different options. I would say you should focus on the one thing that consumes you. Until you have the skillset to balance a portfolio of sites and not get burnt out or take shortcuts then learn everything you can about building out on your current idea.

It's better to get the engine(money site) all tuned up and then work on its other functioning parts. It sucks getting down the road and realizing you missed some site structure component that totally halts your progress or you could have missed out on automating your content syndication with a few extra steps before hand.

Without babbling on too much I just suggest mastering the basics and having fun.

Basics would be on page seo structure
Getting to know your content management system (wordpress is awesome)
Set a schedule that you only work on your site during
Read about anything that directly impacts your goals
Get used to writing a lot of content and keyword research

Calling someone's considered opinion "input" is an insult. Input is raw data, with no analysis, no meaning, no point, it's just input. He's given you OUTPUT, the result of his time, energy, experience and analysis. Anytime anyone thanks me for my "input", I make a silent promise to never give them anything for free again.

It's similar to calling a gourmet meal "edible matter".

I'd resist the urge as a beginner to buy anything that sounds "too good to be true" as you put it. Lots you can learn from free just around the forums. I also second the advice to try to focus on one or a couple projects at a time for now--if you spread yourself too thin, you will not have the focus to develop expertise.

But have a look at these and tell me it doesn't sound convincing.
    blackhatworld dootcoom /blackhat-seo/f201-web-design/
All the ones that are offering prebuilt websites, I can manage and create content and build upon a platform. I'm learning cPanel on my own with no formal knowledge but a computer science class in University.

I understand everything is super saturated, I already have one "great" niche site that is not saturated but I feel like it's going to need to be a very professional website, it's going to be a resource page I suppose. If it gets ranked #1 and it should because of URL, I don't see how it won't get a ton of traffic. It will be limited to about 10 pages. It's like reviewing a small amount of steak houses in a city where people are googling "where to eat kobe beef in Seatle". It's pretty much that specific but I have no idea how to build my website, it's almost too easy to write the content but... Well here I am :)

Also I just came up with the kobe beef idea, wonder if it'd work?! :)

I tried wordpress, and although I made a functioning page, I think I'd rather do my own HTML as I've built a website in college and I used to do a lot of HTML on myspace. I did the sitemap and uploaded it to google.

I'm going off topic talking about my website a lot but I just a big dab so :).

Thank you for all replies, I appreciate it. I haven't been on forums in a couple years and it's cool getting on something besides reddit.

Thank you! This will really help me organize my first website that I have a passion for while learning everything and not getting overwhelmed. I was thinking that maybe I should try to work on two websites first but maybe that's not smart.

In this meantime I have an instagram account I may use instagress to build up. So far I am using the free trial just to see if I should both spending money on it. I have about a hundred pictures saved worth download, it's also something I have a "passion" for, but this idea is over saturated except the name I have is REALLY awesome. I'm hoping I can turn the name into a BB(?) or forum that promotes radical openness, kinda like a self sustaining/organic forum and what not :)(I'm into all that organic self sustaining neo hippie stuff). Only issue is there are a couple giant facebook groups with websites who could implement a forum of their own onto their website.
I have no idea how sustainable a community website is if it's not largely popular.

I need to post a bootstrap method for you guys. I have started all of my sites from scratch with domain and hosting being the only costs which of done right you can get for just under $15 for the first year. Then with all the extra money you have available you can use for seed content or write it yourself. If you don't know how to produce any kind of content yourself then you really won't know what you're buying if choosing to go with a vendor.

If you keep helping me I'll pay you when I make some money.
I have my domain and year of hosting through godaddy.

I think I need to make SSL certificates and prevent DDoS and other attacks. I found a good wordpress theme and edited the CSS to my liking.
Once I launch my site I will be able to charge these places potentially for being on my site. Again it's like the whole "Kobe beef in Seattle" website idea, if Kobe Beef was a niche in Seattle already. After reaching so many views per month different Kobe Beef places would be willing to pay me to be featured in a "featured" section. I imagine I can do adsense with this too.

Thank you for your input. If you want my output its clogged up the cubicle, you might need a rubber glove and a plunger.

Buying won't teach you anything but how to buy. Build your own website and learn by applying what you read.

So in conclusion, be smart and think for yourself and learn from your mistakes. Keep reading, keep learning, and ask questions.
