Everyone is busy listening to justin, psy, enrique, so they dont have time listening to new artists, but keep trying, if you music is good you will get followers sooner or later.

I know you might be discouraged right now, but if music is your passion then stick with it. From my experience, the "artists" tend to be more refreshing in their delivery than the "entertainers" who merely wait for something to become hot so they can copy it. So even if you only have a few fans at first, they still deserve your best effort.

    YouTube man!

I am not sure if you have your music on YouTube but thats how you become a star in the music industry now-a-days.

Make a good song, make a good music video, and promote the shit out of it and you will be famous.

Theres this new guy who is called Little Dicky. His lyrics are dumb, but the song is catchy and he makes music videos for his songs. In a interview he said he spent about $4k to get the ball rolling, and now some of his videos have millions of views and he is getting famous now.

Get the traffic to go from YouTube ---> iTunes/Amazon and you will make more sales that way.

I know that your style is one that is extremely popular with Ohio rappers, as it pays homage to BTNH. That being said, most of your problems lie in your vocal delivery. Your vocals are extremely raw and sometimes come across as very weak and over-extended over certain tracks. Any time you find yourself straining your voice to get the sound you want, it isn't a good thing. I would recommend you take a few lesssons from a vocal coach because you could really benefit from the breathing exercises. Remember that even though your vocals can be enhanced in the studio, you owe it to your fans to develop a strong voice that can endure those world-wide tours you'll be headlining. ;)

I'm with Patel. Youtube is the way to go. Also, you're going to be cursed with that attitude. Do you realize how much negative energy there is in your post? Never give up your dreams, no matter how long it takes. Look how long it took Susan Boyle's dreams to come true, and now she is a multimillionaire. Think positive. Follow the Law of Attraction too.

Get your stuff on Youtube! Thats how I started and with some hard work networking I got there in the end. Obviously views were enhanced but my music naturally got me some followers.

Try to have a sense of presence on these websites. Did you know that Owl City started on Myspace? He was notorious for being VERY involved in his page and replied to fan posts and messages every day. And when you consider how big he became by 2010 thats a big deal.

You need design work for your covers and your website or go more basic.. You need to be a more visually appealing artist also. Your look is boring. You need to do a small photoshoot and get some youtube stuff up like someone said. Then you need to network hard like the rock bands do and also like Lil B, etc. I didn't listen to the music because the cd cover turned me away.. but if you aren't selling beats.. PLEASE get the "Beats" out of your artist name and leave it Chris Black

i dont know what song is your itunes,, see i dont use itunes so if i have to download it or do more than 2 clicks to hear it then im not going to listen to it let alone buy it so that might be your problem right there. the big name artists have a hard enough time getting people to buy their music when there are so many places to hear it for free, so as an unknown artist chances are nobody's going to pay for a download, and not 99 cents for a single.. you might have better luck charging .99 - 1.99 for a 10 track album. the song out of your mind is good, i'd drop the first 17 seconds thou not feeling that, also i dont like the pause before mind and right sounds kinda off. and your double ups should be more insinc, they are kinda off which makes it sound kinda sloppy. album cover is cheap looking,, pay a graphic designer to make one that looks more unique and snazzy,, you look depressed too, get some better pictures of yourself smiling or doing something interesting,, or wear some mad dogger locs if your going for that serious look,, or use that picture for the back and put the track listings on the right side,, also needs a title for the song or album not just your name and i would drop the beats off your name unless you want people to think you just make beats.
not trying to bash you here just giving some constructive critisizm, i feel for you being all bummed out and sh*t,, but dont be negative on yourself you need to do it for the love of making music and the joy you get from it and not worry about blowing up as an artist ... i would suggest to hook up with other local artists, if you can sing the hook for them or get a verse on a song then that will help get your name out too,, and you need more material, try to write at least 1 verse or 1 song a day,, and just do them over free instrumentals,,(still not sure if you make beats, if you do you need to think whats more important for you, being a rapper or producer and dedicate 80% of your effort to that) when you have 100 songs then take the 10 best ones and focus on producing a solid album from that. .......... and do shows and sell your cd's and get a fan base and a name for yourself ,,, even big artists make their money from doing shows, itunes is just promotion .......... good luck bro, keep at it you got some potential ... dont forget the youtube, and reply and say thanks to anyone who posts a positive comment, people will support you if they like you as a person

Been making beats for 9 years. Here is your problem. You blow and your hair is wild as fuck for 2013. Your shit comes off as weird and your not marketable. Some guy in this post said you sound like bonethugs I am from Cleveland You most def don't sound like bonethugs. I mean you say player hation alot that resembles bonethugs wtf....

This is what you need to do. Stop making music. I was about to say some of your beats are ok, listening to the tags realizing they are soundclick producer beats though. Sometimes a person needs to be told whats wrong when they ask "WHy am I not selling shit ?" here is that very moment in your face. You can take this chance and listen to me and craft yourself into something better or you can complain and still not sell shit . Do you know music theory and song progression ? I'm gonna take a wild guess and say no, learn it and teach it to yourself have that edge over people that do it by ear doesn't take very long. I understand your struggle being broke in this fuckin snakebitten city Cleveland we lost 100 million dollars in business in downtown cleveland when Lebron left fuck him. Kid cudi did not make it big till he moved to new york and was homeless but still had money he used a girl here in cleveland for money that she sent him while he was in ny to eat and live, once he got big the chick miscarried his child he never payed her back. Typical cleveland man ditch and mistreat the ones that care for you for people that want to use you We are indeed a smart bunch.

Your First track "Are We Still Friends" reminds me of this song youtu.be/yVY_5L3f4Sg which is my favorate song in this whole wide world. But its not suited for what your trying to do

2nd stop recording in your bedroom throw away your blu usb microphone, here in cleveland you can pay 20 to 100 an hour depending on the studio and audio engineer to record your tracks pro.

3rd Till you have learned music theory pay someone to write your lyrics verse hooks n chorus for you. Many rappers have ghost writers that have written #1 selling hits. You can swap ideas out with the song writer on what lyrics you want to use and what idea your generally going for

4th And the most important aspect in what I'm trying to tell you is love music first and foremost before anything in your life I mean really fall inlove with making it listening to it and live it. Once you do this once you love it the music will take care of you financially this is the most important thing you can do. From what I read you put all this effort into marketing posting fliers right ? Burning your mixtapes right ? Which probably took you a very long time to save up the money pay for the fliers print them up then the job of passing them out, all the while you made your songs incredibly fast to market with the fliers the mixtapes you pass out etc. You concentrated on making money instead of making good music I would want to roll up a burner and smoke to. Concentrate on the music DanielSon

5th Once you have made decent tracks, Contact Peabodys down under in downtown cleveland They will take anyone and everytone that wants to open up for major artist you need to start up as an opening act and I think they will pay you 50 dollars if you can do 50 dollars a day on what your doing then you have techincally made it making a stable salary and wage for yourself in the music industry which is very saturated by people no offense like you that actually go into debt. There are plenty of bars and nightclubs in cleveland that will take you I know personally of shitty rappers i grew up with that got gigs there and they got paid to open up for big names. This is where the real money is Touring and doing shows not in record sales unless your totally indie then you get paid. Huge rappers make money merchandizing and touring not sales on itunes as the above poster said its basically for promotion my friend

6th You have something to what your doing you just need to find it. Or I wouldn't of wasted my time typing to you but it's most def not there yet

7th I will cut you a deal for 1200 dollars to make you 11 Custom tracks I Charge way more but your from Cleveland and just starting out I can understand and will provide the trackouts for an audio engineer to mix and master or leave the effects in and mix n master myself. What your doing now will get you sued taking leased beats and selling them on itunes. ASCAP and BMI has crawlers everywhere on the internet including itunes you will get sued by the producers you leased the beats from or didn't lease at all that are members to ASCAP and BMI all the while not selling 1 single.
