Interesting case study main point is that aged PBNs from expired domains will give good results :)

TLDR - Linking too soon from a freshly indexed PBN will cause a penalty. Wait at least a month before linking to money site.

    This:

There is an algorithmic filter that will cause expired domains to cause penalties when linked from too soon after indexing.

But after a certain time threshold has passed, expired domains work perfectly fine.

Just sounds like blog fluff to me, going off the logic of x + y must = Z.

I am very skeptical about that. Never had issues with linking straight away.

    - I would like to see a bigger scale testing, 6 + 6 domains is not really too much.
    - Google has been rolling out shittons of updates lately and the results could have been significantly influenced by this.
    - And most of all - "Referring domains 29-291" and "Registered the expired domain" - So the domains apparently haven't been registered prior to testing and are not from auctions. So basically, they were free for registration. Do you know when was the last time I have seen clean RD291 domain that you could register for free? Literally never. And that's after... maybe 20 million domains that I went through in my career. Even RD30-40+ is pretty much an Utopia and that comes from someone who goes through 2mil+ domains a month. So point being, those domains, at least most of them, were either formerly used as PBNs or spammy as hell. And that's said with 99%+ certainty IF they weren't from auctions and were registered right prior to the testing.
    - I would also like to know... 36 days from when? From registration date or from indexation date? From first crawl date? If from index, then auction domains that are still indexed or even scraped ones that are still indexed should not be affected by... this at all.
