The truth about why we get fat(Honestly, this is huge)

    Ok guys, this is serious now.

    I want people to understand the real reasons why we get fat simply because what the government has been telling you is actually and honestly completely wrong. Not only that, it is causing people to literally DIE from heart disease. Take this as a blessing, i'm going to open your eyes to the truth about fat, heart disease, cholesterol and how wrong the government's guidlines are. I typed this all myself, please ask yourself, if this post could help keep from an early death, would it be worth spending the 5 mins reading?

    This is worldwide, but mostly in the UK and America where they seem to share the same guidelines.

    I've spent a lot of time researching this, but this video below is one of the best videos you will watch. You need ot pay attention, Gary Taubes is not there to "convince" you of this. He is simply explaining the FACTS and letting you decide for yourself. This sometimes makes the video seem boring, but you have to understand he is not a salesman.

    Now i'll just give you some facts about fat and the process of weightgain in the body. I urge you to believe me that this is true and then go research it for yourself.

    First of all, ALL doctors are taught about the role insulin plays in the body when they first start their University course. So every doctor understands how fat is deposited in the body. Yet they still follow the governments guidelines and go against the science and observations which have been made for the past 100 years.

    We knew about why people get fat for 100 years! Mistakes were made and the governments believed some shoddy doctored reports about fat which started the ball rolling in the wrong direction and is now literally killing people.

    Ok here it is. The reason people get fat is because they eat carbohydrates. Mainly sugar and starchy carbs. NOT because they eat fat.

    That is the honest truth, please believe me on this and reverse the social programming which makes you believe that fat = bad.

    You have muscles in specific places on your body which are sensitive to a hormone called Insulin. When these parts of the body come into contact with Insulin they trigger the wall of the muscle to allow fat to pass through and attach to the area. When you eat carbs, they are converted into Insulin. Thus, eating carbs, increases your bodyfat. Carbs are also CONVERTED into fat too. So you know all that fat sitting around your waste? It was created mostly form the bread, cereal, sugar and potatoes you eat every day.

    I have spent a lot of time on this and if any of you are interested I can explain a lot more about it.

    Just before I go, a few more observations in science show that..

    Eating too much fat has never proven to cause heart disease
    unsaturated fat lowers overall cholesterol BUT it increase BAD cholesterol.

    Eating saturated fat increases overall cholesterol, BUT it mostly increases GOOD cholesterol

    Insulin is directly connected to appetite. The more carbs you eat, the hungrier you get. Which is why fat people who eat a lot of carbs are always hungry.

    A case was made that we live in a toxic society and we get fat because of excess and junk food. This is incorrect, in many places all over the world in the past 100 years it has been observed by doctors and scientists that families who have very low incomes and suffer from malnutrition are obese. This is because all they can afford is foods like bread and rice.

    It was also observed that in low income families that the obese family was often VERY active. Working up to 10 hours a day in hard labour, yet they were still obese because of the high amounts of Insulin their body.


    Another piece of misinformation is that bodyfat is calorie dependant. This is incorrect. We do not increase in bodyfat depending on how much we eat. We increase in bodyfat only if our hormones and genetics allow us to. For example, Women have around 50% higher bodyfat than men. Is this because they eat more? No, of course not, it is because their genetics predispose them this way. Men's bodies tend to add fat to the gut, while women mostly gain fat on their thighs and bum. The reason for this is purely GENETICS and has nothing to do with how many calories we eat.

    Lastly, if you eat a low fat/low calorie diet, you are placing your body into a very stressful position. You have a diet totally full of carbs which produces insulin, which in turn tells your body to add fat to your body. You are also increasing your own appetite. But worst of all, you are restricting the calories and literally placing yourself in a scenario of starvation. This is actual TORTURE to your body. You are forcing your body one way by telling it to increase bodyfat and appetite while pushing in the opposite directly by starving yourself.

    It pains me when I see people do this. The fact is, you can eat a diet with calories OVER what you supposedly burn in a day, yet if you eat the RIGHT diet which our genetics are perfectly balanced with. The same diet we have been eating for the past 100,000 years, you will naturally lose weight. EVEN IF you eat over the 2,500 cals for men and 1,500 for women. This is because our GENETICS help us to ensure our body stays at a healthy weight.

    Sumo wrestlers live on a diet of mostly rice. Not fat. Why? Because if they didn't eat so much rice, they wouldn't get fat.

    Last but not least, EAT FAT, it is really good for you, it is a great source of energy and it does you no harm. In fact, it does you a lot of good because it raises your GOOD cholesterol(especially saturated fat), which plays and essential part in keeping your heart HEALTHY by repairing arteries.

    Incorrect. carbohydrates are for our energy. The reason people get fat is because they sit on chair all day.

    If you eat natural foods veggies and meat, then you won't get fat. You must also throw out soda and juice.

    Eat 70% veggies and 30% veggies and you will not get fat, you will be full, and you will be able to eat all day.

    Portion control is unnatural. Watch how species that are close to us eat--- They forage all day, and exercise all day.

    Veggies are full of water, and will make you full! You can snack on them all day and never get fat. Meat is needed for protein b16, and some other property that I can't remember.

    I loss 50lbs eating like that! veggies + meat + water!

    You're actually wrong and right at the same time.

    Carbs are for energy, but they also increase Insulin levels.

    We can also convert fat directly into energy when there are no Carbohydrates in our body. This is called "Ketosis" and it si a state which is usually medically induced for children and adults who suffer from "fits" as it alleviates the problem.

    We can also convert protein into energy but that's not good because of muscle loss.

    Now, the issue of exercise.

    We do not lose weight from "burning calories", we lsoe weight because we release a hormone ironically called "growth hormone" which tells our body to release fat stores for energy.

    Growth hormone is like the opposite end of a magnet. When Insulin is high, growth hormone is ALWAYS low. When Growth hormone is high, insulin is low.

    So when you exercise, the reason you lose weight is because the body releases growth hormone. so next time you go the gym, don't drink that "energy drink" beforehand, because it will stop the growth hormone form releasing and stop you losing weight.

    It has been said that hypothetically, you can have a healthy heart in a sedentary lifestyle as long as you stimulate growth hormone.

    No, it is actually not.

    Portion has very little to do with it.

    Take a look at nature as an example. When a population of animal enters an area with abundance of food, you do not start seeing obese animals. What you see is an icnrease in the population.

    So why do animals not get fat? Simple, genetics.

    Animals have NO PORTION CONTROL. animals do not know how to count calories.

    The only exception is root vegetables and fruits.

    Natural sugars and starch from root vegies cause Insulin to spike.

    However, our genetics can usually deal with it and by simply cutting out lots of sugar/breads you obviously reached your desired result.

    I snack on pork scratchings, asparagus all the time and I just keep losing weight it is great. I must eat well over 2,500 calories a day.

    Its all about portion control. Animals have portion control. All about portion control. My cat doesnt have portion control lol hes a fatty.

    Plant eating animals don't get fat because plant based foods are low calorie, low energy density, high water food. They have to graze all day to meet their caloric needs.

    Flesh eating animals don't get fat because although meat is high in calories it is also high in protein and fat. Both fat and protein lead to satiety.

    Also, animals do not eat processed food, they don't have sodas, and don't eat a ton of refined sugar.

    Humans are fat because, we sit on our butts, we eat processed foods, too many calories, and too much sugar

    Plus you're relating to animals not americans which is what I was talking about. Hey fatty get 1 scoop of ice cream not 2, hey fatty get a medium fry instead of large. youll lose weight trust me. common sense. you definitely wont gain weight from this.

    Portion control is only needed when you eat unhealthy unnatural food. Animals don't use portion control. They eat natural foods unless humans introduce bs to their diet.... like my idiot friend who feeds his dog ice cream!


    Start feeding an animal processed and high sugar food and see what happens!

    I will repeat it again: Portion Control is needed when you eat unhealthy food, if you eat a diet that is based mostly on plants and meat you will not get fat!

    It is about what you eat and the hormones in your body. Not about how much you eat.

    You think a gorilla has so much muscle mass because it eats tons of protein each month?

    Do you think a sea lion is so fat because it doesn't have "portion control"?

    It is all genetics. And in our genetics, carbohydrates trigger Insulin, which triggers bodyfat to increase.

    what is wrong with you guys, were not talking about monkeys and tigers and shit. were talking about humans, who in fact eat shit for food. eat less shit lose weight, plain and simple, no arguing.

    here is my simple cure for fat guys if you want loose fat all you have to do is drink a Hot cup of Green Tea everyday but not only that you have to first talk to the green yes i really mean that everything has a lil bit of consciousness so pray over the tea tell it what you want it to do to you tell the tea that you want it to care you from all diseases this is the secret and they will never teach you this in school or in the media this is called voodoo science god bless stay well yall:cool:

    Just as making money is simple, yet we make it look complicated, the same rule applies to fatness, just eat lots of veggies, healthy diet, and excercise everyday.What's the topic in that.

    Simple - EAT HEALTHY DIET (vegetables) AND WORKOUT.

    5 words, that's it, and yet, people write 600 pages of book about loosing weight.

    The main part are usually simple.

    My brother had never seen his abs, he was always chubby.... He's in his mid 20s

    recently went on a strict no carb no sugar diet, only protein and healthy fats. He did weight training and cardio too.

    1 month on this he saw his abs

    1 month after this he was ripped, everyone including me was like WTF.

    So yeah I completly agree with OP

    My grandmother had a dog which was very fat, they gave it biscuits. However, when the veterinarian placed the dog on a low fat diet by replacing a lot of the meat with rice, it's size increased further.

    Looking back now, I can see the problem clear as day but what can you do?

    The unnatural food in our diet is mainly sugar. It causes a lot of problems for us. Mainly heart disease, diabetes but one other thing. Sugar creates very big Insulin spikes in the body, Insulin will actually increase the growth rate of cancerous cells. My grandfather currently has prostate cancer and I keep warning my grandmother not to feed him sugars but it is extremely hard to show people to truth when they have lived for so long under this misinformation.

    Here is another piece of information.

    According to historians, we have never had such a low fat diet in history.

    And yet, statistics say that heart disease and obesity is INCREASING. One study showed how obesity and heart disease increased as the government in America rolled out it's low fat diet guidelines around the 1970s(I think it was the 70s, not sure on that one)
