Successful people who achieve their dreams, NEVER waste their time. I know you've heard this a lot lately, but I'm going to explain to you WHY this is so.

Think about that before you come here asking for a method or handout.

You will KNOW when you are taking the right steps/succeeding when your brain tells you that it is 'painful' to work.

Success doesn't feel good at the beginning, it HURTS. It's painful. It's hard for me to stare at my computer and do nothing but work. THAT'S when you know you are doing the right thing!

Trust me it's not easy, it took me like 6 months to finally snap out and say wait a minute.... my brain feels pain whenever I do work.... I must be doing something right.

REMEMBER, if you are not successful already and you DON'T do anything different then yesterday, you will ALWAYS stay the same.

This is what they mean by "NO PAIN, NO GAIN".

    It's not just a workout/exercise term.

If your brain isn't actively telling you to STOP working because it's tired / lazy, then you aren't doing the right thing.

If you READ this thread and disagree with my opinions/comments... please at least think about this last point.

Your brain has been programmed to fail by being LAZY. Once you are actually working, it tries to tell you 'hey this isn't what we were doing before.. let's go back to the way it was when we were sitting and watching TV'. You or your ENVIRONMENT has programmed you to FAIL, now it's your job to change the channel.

Instead of saying to yourself 'what method can i learn to make monies'

ask yourself... can I even do work for 1 hour straight without getting up or changing the browser to something entertaining?

GOD BLESS all of you, and I hope some of us wake up sooner than later.

    I agree with you 100%.
This is why 99% of people fail to make $ online and be successful.
Hopefully some people will take action and do actual work.

It is whatever you make it. If you equate painful tasks = success, all your work will be painful. Change your mindset to something positive, and maybe it will be easier for you.

I don't even want to acknowledge your comments because everything you ever post is an attempt to flame someone or make them look stupid.

    Go troll somewhere else.

My concept is that painful work is what will set you apart from everyone else.

My mindset is positive.. I go in to my WORK 100% because I know if I give it anything less I will get distracted by what's around me.

I know there are things I HAVE to do to succeed in IM, and I'm starting to actually DO those things instead of floating around on the internet.

To be honest, I think if you truly want to succeed you don't think of trying to make money as 'work'. I spend hours in front of my computer, thinking writing, responding, creating but never does it actually cross my mind that I'm working. I feel buzzed when I see money in my account, and my ideas succeeding. If they don't succeed? Who cares? Try it again, try something different until you see results. It might take days, it might take months. My advice? Read, read, read and attempt!

Asking can be beneficial at times, but as you rightfully mentioned you must go and learn things for yourself. It's only your own perspective on things that will help you create a profitable business online.

Whats true is that there are uneducated and low self confidence members of this forum who feel the need to trash others who actually are trying to make a positive change in this community. How's that for truth?

I'm not a motivator, I'm just speaking the truth.

Work can be fun, but let's be real... to really become the best or even great at what you do, you have to attack your gameplan with a certain mindset.

TIME is a crucial aspect of this world. Many people have not learned how to control it. I don't know how to control it well either, I'm just saying that I'm trying my best and others should too. (If they want to get ahead)

Thank you. The reason why I felt compelled to write about this even though there was already a slew of information on this topic was because I thought I could explain it in a better way. I wanted to add something to their thoughts.

To me the media in a way has put our 'work' minds to sleep and put our entertainment caps on for too long. The internet is a great place to be entertained, but we marketers need to stick to our guns and work our asses off if we ever plan on reaching new heights that I'm 100% sure our members are capable of.

Most people suffer from disorganisation and non planning or just a lack of concentration while doing any job tasks they have to motivate themselves for, and i am a slight sufferer of it myself.

I mean an example day in internet marketing for me would go typical like this:

"Id wake up and not actually have an organized plan of how im going to tackle my internet marketing for the day, so i spend the first 30 minutes sitting in front of the computer tinkering around doing nothing productive until my brain kicked in. Then i would decide to fire up Scrapebox and build some backlinks, then i would be stumped what to do next and tinker around web-browsing, then id decide to write an article, then get bored and read this forum for inspiration, then take a rest and go watch some tv or go out or have something to eat, then come back and submit the article i had written, then lose concentration and tinker around again web-browsing, then decide to bookmark the article on social bookmarking websites..and so on..."

I know at least i am taking action and i have had some success, but its not an organised way to work and i would never of worked this way in a 9 to 5 job, it would of been mad.

I think people who succeed know how to plan their days.

    Like for example.

Monday - Spend 1 or 2 hours keyword research
Tuesday - Spend 3 hours writing articles about chosen keyword
Wednesday - Spend 3 hours registering domain, building blog and content
Thursday - Spend 3 hours Submitting blog links to bookmarking websites, building backlinks or creating linkwheels
Friday- Spend 2 or 3 hours submitting articles to ezinearticles, goarticles etc
Saturday - Spend 2 hours building more backlinks
Sunday - Spend 2 hour building more backlinks

This is a lot more organized and gives each day a specific task, rather than doing several different types of task each day like im doing at the moment.

I think this is the sort of way i need to plan my days in the next project i undertake.

I do the exact same thing!

I would do a little work, and then get distracted. It's like I have ADD or some shit. It feels like that at least.

I'll be working hard then I'll lose myself by reading yahoo.com or chatting on instant messaging too much ... or wasting time even away from the computer. I've learned to close my IM's, scold myself when I'm reading bullshit on the internet and force myself to pick myself up and get back to work.

The only way to get over this is to KEEP reminding yourself that you are using the computer for a reason. You are on a mission. Repeat it to yourself over and over till you snap out of that BS.

Internet marketing can be both self rewarding and monetarily rewarding, but it can also be difficult to stay on task. That's because, at least most of us, work at home. What else do we have at home? Television. Video games. A warm bed. Our computers aren't stripped down to our basic needs.. we can surf wherever we want, and no boss looking over our shoulders to tell us we cant. We don't have timeclocks, and no real consequence if we dont work.. we cant be fired, we can only fail ourselves. Many of us have a 9-5 job, so our dreams and aspirations can be put on hold, as we always have something to fall back on.

We are self motivators and self learners. We work and learn at our own pace, and are both learning and working at the same time. Most of us don't have a daily schedule, as our tasks are usually random and spur of the moment.. writing an article, setting up a new site, researching a niche, most of these things can't be done at specific times of the week.. they are done on the fly, as ideas enter our head, and inspiration and motivation starts to flow.

We were taught at an early age, ever since we entered grade school, that a certain class starts at a certain time, and school ends at a certain time, after that is time to go home to play. When we're home, we don't want to do homework, which is what working at home is, in a literal sense. The reward we get isn't a grade, though, but self fulfillment and monetary success.

We need to remind ourselves that, though we are working, we are still having fun at what we do, learning a lot of information in a short amount of time, and giving ourselves a higher quality of life. Not many people can say that, as most people are happy and content with their overworked, underpaid 9-5 jobs, paying bills with what they make, struggling and surviving. We are no different than them, with the exception that we are not happy and content. There is something inside us waiting to get out. We know there is something more. We press ourselves, stumble through mistakes, and patiently know that for us, the grass really is greener on the other side. Someday, some of us get to lay in that green grass, and some know it is there, waiting to feel. Just know that it is there. You wont get there without effort or self discipline, though.

Try to compare your work with building a deck. You may be tired when you get home, or not want to spend your weekends hammering and sawing, but if you dont, the deck wont get done. So keep hammering away, one nail at a time, even if it takes 10 years to build. Try not to get sidetracked, stay focused on the task at hand, and don't stop until it is finished. Only then will you feel a sense of accomplishment and reward. Above all else, find enjoyment in what you do. It's been said that a man who finds enjoyment in what he does never has to work a day in their life!

For myself, it's most important to do it now. I don't have 10 years to become rich.

I want it now, while I'm young. To each their own I guess.

Interesting post! For me, I run all aspects of my blog by myself. There are certain tasks which I find boring and I feel the pain that you mention, especially repetitive tasks. However, if I only did those boring tasks and nothing else, my site wouldn't be making money. For me it is the combination of all the tasks I do that make it a success, it is the recipe. Everyone will enjoy different tasks from that recipe. The ones I enjoy are the imaginative and the strategic ones, those are not painful to me, but they are just as important as the painful grunt work I do
