    Hey B-Hatters! . . . Wiz here.

A couple of days ago, I was just thinking about my time here on BHW and all of the many experiences I have had on this great forum. From the time that I first became a member, I have seen so many changes and have seen a large number of people come and go. But there is one thing hasn't changed . . .

It's the mysterious, seductive power of Black Hat World.

I am certain that you all know what I mean. You have all experienced it (and continue to do so) at least to some degree. It is that unstoppable urge to log on to BHW and see the latest BH methods, or get the latest product, or just to see what the hell is going on.

I remember when I was first a member of BHW, I spent most of the next 6 months doing nothing but browsing the forum. It was just so fascinating. The smart, interesting people and the treasure chest of money making ideas & downloads were absolutely mind-blowing. I couldn't get enough of it. Every day was like Christmas.

Finally, after heeding the many warnings that the experienced members of BHW were saying about getting focused, taking action, and not fooling one's self, I eventually put myself on the right track and actually began to discipline myself enough to be able to split my time between BHW and actually perform the process of internet marketing. It was hard breaking away from the forum's activities at first, but I soon began to see the benefit of it.

I still spend a lot of time on BHW, but for a different reason. Being a moderator takes constant vigilance, and I am happy and proud to be of service to this great community.

So, what is all of this leading to? . . .

Well, basically, it's just intended as a gentle reminder (or a gentle kick-in-the-ass) to those who find themselves locked in the allure of BHW. Don't get me wrong . . . BHW is the BEST forum in the world to learn the greatest, most original, up-to-date internet marketing tactics. But it is important to know that internet marketing is like swimming. You can read 100 books on how to swim, but you won't REALLY know how to swim until you dive into the water.

So what are you waiting for? . . . Your ship will never come in if you don't swim out there and meet it. You don't want to end up someday saying "I could have done this", or "I should have done that." Dive in right now and don't worry about making mistakes. The richest internet marketers are the ones who have made the most mistakes.

Hurry up now . . . Your ship could pull away at any moment.

    Cheers! . . . and here's hoping everyone had a great Halloween :)

    "Wiz"

This is a great post. :) I'm currently learning my mistakes with PPV. OH THE JOYS! I went through my bout of mistakes with SEO and constantly reading BHW and not actually working. When I first started I read BHW for about 4 months everyday all day long. If there was something I didn't quite understand I wrote it down Than the next day would search for all the threads on it on BHW. Thus the 4 months of constant reading lol.

yea this place is pretty much my second home id have to say. when im on the internet im either making money or on here waiting for it to come in. when i 1st came to this place it was because of a thread i found on google. it was about e-cigs because i was trying to get into the business of selling e-cigs. some dude saying he was making over 1k a day off some shit he was doing, the thread title was "just like slingin rock" or some shit like that. i was kind of like whooptie fucking do, great for you, but then i started to look this place over and i couldnt fucking believe the shear mass amount of info that i had before my eyes. pretty much like i stuck gold, and in a since i guess you could say i did. ive read so much shit on here its unreal. somedays on the weekends id just stay on here for 12 hours reading. the money im making today is because of this place and i just have to say i really fucking appreciate this place.

Taking action on the info I learn hear has a direct correlation with
getting those "notification of payment received" emails :D :D

And oh the long nights! (tonight could be another one lol)

Like tonight, I just got my ass a google wave invite!

    Yipee!

You said it so well Wiz, I literally have to pull myself away from this place or I'm just not getting my daily tasks accomplished. BHW has been the most addicting forum I've ever been a part of. The great sense of community, friendships that are built, and that ever alluring need to keep an eye out for newly introduced methods, software, etc. make it feel like a hit of crack to a street junkie.

For me, it's where I spend my breaks throughout the day. No man can live on link building, content writing, and babysitting the work of outsourcers alone.

    ;)

    Excellent post my friend,

    Red

So true & tht too coming from an BHW Mod....

May be its time to start a thread on how to de-addict yourself from BHW & spend more time TAKING ACTION

Or even better someone shud write a book on it ..and he will have most of BHW members as his customers ;)

Yes, I think Wiz hit the nail on the head.
And soo did the others who are addicted and lose sleep here.

When I got here I was already successful with my own methods
but did read prtty much half the trheads here and yes it took me
    away from the income-generating work.

I suspect that some will come in with no direction and find it here
and then mature to regular members and hopefully give back once
they get the confidence to try, then see success, then do their
own modifications to methods, or develop new ones.

These days, I start my day here. Look over what's new, then go
to work. After work, I usually drop back in to see what's new again
...and there is ALWAYS something new...even if it is Lounge banter

...but it is a place where there are people o a like-mind who are
involved in Unconventional Income Sources ( that is,other than
a 9-5 job ...not just IM, some of this is offline, some of it is not
    exactly "marketing" either. lol )

In the end, if I could have nothing else on BHW, it would be the
membership from whom I can usually get a FAST answer to a
question, and REVIEWS of things/services so that I can make
sound choices. And as a bonus, if I need something done, there
are great providers in the Hire A Freelancer / Services For Sale
section who have really made my life easier.

Example: I needed a bunch of blogs made ...a certain way.
It would cost me 5 -6 hours to do them, mostly because I HATE
making blogs, and I get frustrated with them, so I'd procrasitnate.
I had them done in a hour for $XX here on BHW beacause I hired
someone from membership who whipped throug them fast and
was really happy with the result - especially the part where I
did not need to do them....and it's not like other places where
they give you 20 questiions about who you are, what you are
going to do with them ...etc. payment = performance, here.

    Awesome.

I have to say I totally agree, when I first joined I was in the forum all the time and not working, I am not as bad now, well I say that but there is always a tab open with BHW on it, so I can keep flicking back and see what I am missing lol, but as you start reading more an more methods you will see something that you really like and you will go off and do that, and when you do just stick with it, and believe in yourself and give the method a chance and you can make it, don't try 1 or 2 methods and then give up, it is finding the right method for you.

Thank you Wiz for this and all the hard work and to everyone on the forum whether you be a mod, an admin a member of the vip sections or just a total newbie, whatever you decide to do best of luck to you, just stick with it.

Just the kind of kick on the butt that I need. I've been reading BHW almost everyday since the day I became a member. It's addicting! I guess it's time to get to my ship before it sails.

I am really sorry for bumping this thread.
