I feel bad for you guys. I feel bad for myself too. I think we're all in the same boat. Many of us are stuck practicing all sorts of marketing tactics that we aren't proud of. Let's face it -- a lot of what we do is openly hated by the general public. So why do we do it? In my opinion, it's a product of our upbringing. I suspect, that most of us grew up in some form of poverty. Perhaps not poverty, but in an environment where our opportunities were limited. Be it, a broken home, financial burden, emotional instability, or other significant burdens. I suspect, that most of us would love to have a proper occupation that does not involve these tactics. An occupation that allows us to hold our head high, that allows us to bring a decent income home to our families. For occupations are not purely about income; they are also about personal dignity. Internet marketing is supposed to be an equalizer of sorts. Our start-up costs are low and we don't need much initial capital. We can maintain a level of reasonable anonymity. The skills can be learned and all you need is a flexible moral compass. What other industries offer such opportunities? None, really. Based on our individual circumstances, we have been pushed into this industry. I don't think any of us do this because we are passionate about it. We do it out of necessity. We do it because we have to. I guess I'm bitter. Fuck anyone who feels they have truly "earned" their law degree from that prestigious university (while being shuffled along by mom and pop). Fuck anyone that has received trust fund dollars. Fuck anyone who dares to look down upon us. Sorry. Needed to bitch.
