Hey BHW it's been awhile since i've posted anything but I have been busy thinking of how to succeed in this recession alot of people are facing right now.

My question is how is everyone doing? What about your friends and family?

I'm personally upset because of course America was suppose to be about working hard to succeed and i've come to realize that even our free market is being destroyed. I remember when I was 10 the US was all about the American dream and lately I realized that we are being controlled or manipulated in some way to have limited amount of wealth. Many of you may not understand about "our" system because i must admit it is complicated. For example the dollar losing it's value, the mortgage crisis, the financial banks being manipulated, unemployment rates, tax increase, etc

Every since I was a kid I wanted to open my own pharmacy store, my teen years in HS i wanted to open a used video game store, then computer store, etc and guess what happened? All the "regular" people like me stood no chance of competing with bigger corporations like CVS, Walgreens, Gamestop, Best Buy, etc

Its so messed up that I settled for IM which seems to generate better income for me than some corporate slave job thank God. BHW has made things interesting and kept me entertained along the way. The IM BOOM hit and people started getting laid off, etc so they googled "work at home" "get rich online" etc and discovered IM and forums like BHW which flooded alot of niches even destroyed good ones because of greed. I don't blame anyone for hustling online to make a living we all have to eat and the recession is what i put the blame on. Should we expect the next great depression? I hope not.

I hope alot of you are saving your $$$ because spending it now seems worthless.

Please share your opinion

Agreed. The recession has been tough on alot of folks. I think it could be a major shift. I worked alot of contract jobs including for the government space agency. However, the simple thing I learned is how they abuse their workers. You are a pawn to them, they want you to over work and get under paid.

Someone I know works in finance, they work no more than 8 hours (if even) a day waiting by the phone to take stock orders for people. Its slow slow work but no matter what they get paid their 400K a year salaries.

I second the motion to buy gold.

The next crash is GOING to come around in the 2nd half of this year, it could be caused by BP, Goldman sachs, the chinese property bubble, or any number of things. I heard that if obama isn't ousted before October we're all fucked.

Remember that while the euro is weak, bond investors are flocking to US treasuries. When they realize these are no better, there will be a run on the dollar and Bernanke will print off the difference.

Food for thought :D

haha even Gold worries me sometimes even tho that's been my choice since the beginning but I get paranoid alot then i feel better when i realize how liquid Gold is hehe

But anything seems better than cash I agree. I say stick with precious metals/gold.

recession is a concept that is conceptualized by people and becomes an attitude. This attitude is of a victim mentality. I lost my job because of the recession, and I too was pissed for a couple weeks, about a month exactly. in that month I started a business and failed a couple of times in what I was originally doing and then I found BHW and sell services I have learned from here.

Believe in your self, believe in creativity and ingenuity, find a niche and fill it with your product or service.... that's it..

find your biggest pain point and solve it...

If it is finding a job in your field, then maybe it's creating a job board for your field and have every place that you think needs your job board an email...

find problem solve it .. make money

i agree, find that the niche that you know about and love is the key i believe that EVERYBODY loves something that they could motorize but i keep hearing shit from newbies like "what i know people don't care about" so they go after saturated niches like movies, music, celebrities, etc and then they complain and beg others for "our" niches like we'd be foolish to share lose what we got? I gotta eat man lol

also to many of you newbies
Get this, to make $100 on adsense you make a site and send targeted traffic to it. YES it is that simple you don't need any other information the more you look the more you confuse yourself. (personally i think any thread on BHW about building 1000 micro niche site is bulllshit and your a fool for attempting something that lame and wastefull) Like i mentioned above if you had DONE SOMETHING YOU KNEW ABOUT youd know HOW to promote it and make that $100 a day or more. Do what YOU know don't come here and try to steal or beg for knowledge you already know about. Affiliate marketing is the same, find a product and promote your affiliate ID link and make MONEY why do you newbies not understand how to go about doing that? Because you promote shit you don't know nothing about.

Anyways newbies, we're in a recession and many are hustling DO YOUR OWN THING and stop being greedy trying to come in and snatch other peoples ideas that YOU will probably waste hours of your time trying to make a quick buck on. Doing your own thing and being patient is your way to success.

The only thing that will save you when the economy crashes is a firearm and ammunition...I'm thinking a Glock 19 with an amphibious kit for starters.

In the absence of the rule of law, might makes right.

On a side note...think about Goldline. Glenn Beck, love him or hate him, has carved out a niche among the "Chicken Little Apocalypse" subset of Fox News viewers and gets a cut of every sale.

Find a niche and monetize it.

dont save your paper money buy gold. Its the only thing that will save you when our economy crashes.

I disagree. Gold is so high right now, lol. It would have been a great time when the commodity markets crashed, but not now. I bought $1,000 worth of silver bullion at like $7. It's at like ~18.50 now.

I prefer silver because you get more, for less and when it comes down to it, you'll be able to barter an old silver JFK better than a gold sliver.

Gold is meant to crash March/August next year if I remember correctly.

@OP - I'm sitting here with my boringly easy job (thanks to BHW lol) in some foreign country with a stunningly good girlfriend, reading how all my friends are struggling back home...crazy

what country is that?

It is a chain of fear. Much of which is caused by hype.

I lost my job and have seen many friends lose theirs. However, take a step back and it is a time of great oportunity for those who start working on their own stuff.

You won't get another time with so many doors opening for years to come.

i honestly haven't noticed any difference.

something i've been wondering though, is whether the recession has affected the IM playing field at all?
i've only been doing this for the last 6 months so i can't tell.

was it like, a lot easier to make money online before the recession? :O

america's economy is best? pop! goes that bubble.

so.. you were growing up in america and thought we had it all good, best standard of living on earth, and the rest of the world was living in some kind of medieval poverty. and of course our pro business policies like reaganomics were helping us move ahead of the playing field, outgrowing 'sluggish' europe & japan. right? right??? pop! there goes that bubble. guess we were a little off...

:jaw:
speechless?

Minimum wage screws over the poorest workers as employers don't bother employing as many people. The US economy right now is so debt fueled it's insane. Obama is a nutcase just making it worse.. But he wouldn't know, I mean he's always on holiday right?

Offline, the recession has affected my dad's company very greatly. We cannot afford such luxury like before. Although we are still working on it and we hope that everything will be better again. :)

I think the question is more like, Do you know anyone who isn't struggling?

I own a drive in cinema when i'm not doing this and it is recession proof - the people you lose because they can't afford it get replaced by more people who can't afford more expensive nights out - my business actually booms in a recession.
