The "got banned from/can't get approved for Adsense what is best alternative" threads are pretty common. Here's what I've found to be the best alternative.

About a year ago, Google started testing Adwords units that were basically mini opt-in forms. Several advertisers reported excellent success with them. Their success inspired me to build a simple optin form that would fit in a standard ad unit that I could use on my sites that weren't Adsense-safe, or where Adsense was performing poorly.

I started making banners similar to the dummy banner you'll see at the bottom of http://4vp.me with a simple pitch and one field email subits. They work very well, to the point I'm replacing some adsense units on my sites with this style of optin form pretty aggressively.

The way to make these work is to use an autoresponder that lets you set up good drip campaigns. Lots of people seem to have the mindset that unless they have an email list with hundreds of thousands of subscribers they won't make any money. Nearly the opposite is true - people tend to be most responsive right after they sign up for something, your most aged subscribers tend to be the ones that don't open or click much anymore. Also, I don't care what your niche is, there is always something of value you can send to people via email, and offers to send them after they sign up, the myth that the only worthwhile email niches are health and MMO is just plain bogus.

Depending on a single PPC platform as your major source of revenue and playing by Google's Adsense rules limits your opportunities. List management and mailing are much more work than just sitting there and getting ACH's once a month for people clicking on Google's ads on your site, but it can easily be 10-100 times more lucrative.

Amen to all the above. Having another good PPC program really would be nice, it's ridiculous that Adwords/Adsense has been the only reliable model. On the Adwords rival side, only Facebook ads seem to compare. Pay per sale profits from list upsells and affiliate commissions are great, but pay-per-performance money from clicks alone is also fantastic, so long as an effective program besides Google can be relied on to provide it.

Having an alternative to Adsence is really important. Adsence toys with us. And we can't depend on a single network for our earnings.
