    Well i think we all know that youll get fat if you eat too much shit food and don't do shit :p I bet you can eat 100kg cabbage day and go thinner but 100kgb Bigmacs will do something :D But in the end you are what you eat, well excluding some sickness and such

    the genetic card is bullshit, i have never seen a fat horse or a fat giraffe or a fat monkey... you only ever see fat humans, fat dogs, and fat cats... hmm, im starting to see a pattern here? that woman should be hung

    Dr. Suzanne is obvious not a doctor and her book is nothing but spun concepts and ideas.

    The nasty thing that is shown is called mucoid plaque. I had mine removed after a week of semi-master cleanse and some detox program and supplements. I felt so relieved. Try it guys/

    No, I can eat as much as I want and I won't get fat. That's because I have good metabolism, that's why. Other people have to do lots of cardio exercises in order not to get fat.

    I will explain why it is far from bullshit. Guess why there are no fat animals in the nature? Because fat animals can't survive in the nature thus they have evolved to be thin. Fat animals would have disadvantages in hunting, they couldn't run away from natural enemies and would die before they would be able to reproduce, besides they probably wouldn't be able to find a mate, because nobody wants to pass on bad genetic features to the next generations, it might endanger the survival of the specie.

    And there ARE fat animals, mostly those who are in Zoo's or domesticated. They are fat because there there isn't anyone to kill them. Look at this guy for example [​IMG] [​IMG]

    Modern humans are the same. We live in a relatively peaceful environment and being fit is not necessary for survival anymore as it was back in stone age.

    You are FAT, because your genes ARE BAD. End of story.

    Hopefully soon DNA manipulations and in vitro fertilization will let us produce healthier and more fit offspring.

    PS: That woman is just spewing out some bullshit so she can sell her shit. Props to her for making money off stupid people.

    Inheriting a slow metabolism is the only way you can inherit the trait of being overweight. I for one have a slow metabolism which is one of the reasons i excercise regularly. Instead of buying the book you can buy metabolism boosters from gyms (i wouldnt buy anything health related online lol), and eat 6 small healthy meals a day (frequent meals = faster metabolism).

    Of course she isnt a real doctor, shes just a sales person who found out free stuff on the internet and sold it in a book. That's how Kelly Felix got rich. It's an old method but clearly it still works as there will always be stupid people.

    Losing weight is very straight forward. Get your as up and go jogging every day burning enough calories. The thing is, people want everything yesterday and while they sleep. I for example could do with losing a few pounds but I just can't be bothered.

    @small_town_boy lmfao at the horse.. you seriously believe that isnt shopped? thats like 5yr olds photoshop skills.. dont believe all you see on google images! look at the blur on the muscles above the front legs, its a fat horse yet it has blurred muscle tome.. hmm.. some gimp has just used the liquify tool on a low rez pic from the net, end of :rolleyes:

    But i take on board what you say tho and i have changed my opinion (a bit) i agree some are more prone to weight gain than others. And you are right that fat animals wouldnt survive so we wouldnt see them as much - never thought about it like that ;)
    i still think the reason most people get fat is basically they eat more calories than they burn, ive done it myself.. went chubby then felt shit so ate less and exercised more.. and it worked.

    thats bollocks mate.. people get fat on the whole because they eat too much and are not active enough. genes sometimes play a part.

    But the genes determine your hunger! I, for one, do not like to eat much at all. I hate meat, for example. But other people love it. Their genes determine both their metabolism and their appetite!

    yes but you have control over it! i went chubby once because i ate too much, now i moderate my appetite and make effort not to sit on the comp all day.. im lucky because i can eat a lot without much weight gain. when i went fat its because i was going out drinking a lot and eating maccys for lunch every day. control is the key, and we all have the ability to control ourselves

    ps small town.. cmon!! admit that horse is shoppage :D:D:D

    You are fat because you eat A) large portions or B) shitty foods and aren't active enough.

    Anyone in this thread who blames genes is probably just a delusional fatass. (and i'm overweight)

    I agree about the control. Of course, if person has lots of willpower, he can get in great shape despite his genetics.

    I don't know. It might be. If it is, it doesn't prove me wrong anyway.

    wakkaoaka you should try marketing your videos on Yahoo Answers. I think that would be a good place for it. People are always asking stupid questions about weight loss, dieting, eating properly...

    On a side note, I have a slow metabolism so I work out regularly. I think I'm addicted to working out. I have a small gym at home, stationary bike, weights, abs machine. On top of that I also go to the gym and mountain bike ride here in California.

    When I was young and just growing up, my family had a history of obesity and just all around bad health and bad eating habits. I learned how to take care of myself when I joined the military. I quickly learned the benefits of working out. On top of that, I refused to grow up that way (like my family) so I changed my eating habits and started working out like a nut.

    At one point I was even a group fitness instructor at 24 Hour Fitness but it started taking too much of my time so I quit.

    Now I just run my home business, work out almost every day and eat as healthy as I can.

    I could talk forever on this subject but I'll stop now.

    genes have everything to do with it. in my family you'll be thin if you take after my mother,
    but fat if you take after my father. some of us have slow systems and some have fast.
