Note: None of the specific goal examples are my personal goals. None of my personal goals are in this post. Don't read into it, just follow through.

Consistency may sound obvious. I hate when I give someone a tactic or strategy and they tell me "Well that's obvious. Why should I pay you for that?"

Well, a week later, they are doing the same old stuff and making no progress. The best way to succeed at ANYTHING at all is simply to be consistent. Whether it's exercise, making money online, making income of any kind, or even study. Consistency will win the day every time.

You probably have heard of people saying things like the following. "I want to make $4000 a month with passive income online!". Well, months follow and no progress is made. They end up thinking "HOLY SHIT! How am I going to make $4000 dollars a month!". That also will just defeat your goals and crush your vision.

Passive income is not passive. But building up truly passive income requires consistent work and HARD work in the beginning at that. [Most of the time, there are always exceptions.] To be honest, the idea of passive income is delusional if you aren't doing other things to CREATE the passive income.

    Make money actively first.

Set a very specific dream goal, GO CRAZY WITH IT. That can be your vision. Then set realistic goals and make SPECIFIC plans to reach it. Focus only on what will directly make you money. Once you got income, think of tactics that will help you dial up your cash. Remember to set a crazy vision, and start with baby steps. [ie: You want to make $100k a year. This month and every month I will set up 10 websites making 2 dollars a day. (Maybe one site a day, every single weekday?) After this, I will apply tactics and strategies to dial it up.]

    RESULTS COME FIRST, IMPROVE LATER.

Then just automate it as much as possible, and rock the market with what you do not have automated. [ie: If you automate everything but customer service, make your customers say "WOW, I am going to tell my friends about how amazing this guy was with his service!"]

Now, where does consistency come in? Every. Single. Moment.

If you set up one TINY website a day with some money making method, then repeat it every day for a month, you have 30 websites. The important issue is making it balanced between very little pressure and actually getting something important done. If you complain and think of how long it will take, you will never succeed. Take baby steps, and then one day you might think, "Hey man, I can do two sites today.". These "baby steps" will allow you to get in the zone and motivated to do more WITHOUT PRESSURE.

Now, come up with baby steps you can do every day. WITHOUT FAIL. You will have no pressure, and once you get the momentum, you can make more effort that day. Never, ever, ever force yourself to do more. You will burn out.

    1. Create a crazy, dream goal [money? studies? career?]

    2. Set modest and very EXPANDABLE baby steps.

    3. Require yourself to do these baby steps every single day.

    4. Allow yourself to do more of these steps, and anything else necessary to your goals.

    5. Continue and expand, REACH YOUR DESTINATION AND KEEP GOING!

My tips: You need to have a picture of all factors that you need to dominate to earn money:

    For example: Keyword Research,Competition analisys,Link building,Content Creation,Monetization.

And experience, the more you fail more you will be close to do the right thing.

In my experience, it's really just about working hard even when things seem to be working against you, or not working at all. If you give up all of the time without putting some effort into things, you'll really never get anywhere. Things take time! That's probably also why only the passionate and determined people ever reach their personal goals in life.

I used this analogy in another thread: For me, it was like a snowball. Instead of just tossing one snowball into a pile of snow and expecting something to happen, I busted my butt to roll it around at first even though it didn't seem to work. After a while, the snowball was pretty big, and I could keep it the same size just by rolling it around every so often. Later, I decided to make more of these snowballs, and now I have a small fort made out of them.

Hopefully in the future it becomes a skyscraper :D

Good luck to everyone here, these motivational threads are always pleasant.

I was thinking about this the other day. It's true. Even if your method only takes a little bit of work to make residual income what are you going to do? more work to make more income of course....why sit around doing nothing collection checks when you can repeat what you did to get those checks in the first place.

god but i hate threads like this one. i hate them because they're pointless and empty. full of hot air and dreams, and leading nowhere.

an ounce of know-how is worth oprah winfrey pounds of consistently doing the ineffective.

you can consistently bang your head against the wall and achieve nothing more than brain damage. You can fail using the same technique everyday consistently and really master the art of failure.

What you see a lot of is people trying to do the same old ideas, long after they are old and don't work anymore.

Consistency is important but so is serious evaluation of your results and paramount to all is a decent idea, not ancient ideas that do not work anymore.

Consistency may be the mother of success but it could also be the sister of insanity.

I appreciate the thanks and helpful replies. I'm glad there are some people in the public forums that have a good mindset.

This thread isn't about motivation at all. It's about using a concrete plan and sticking to it. So far all the negative replies obviously did not read the post at all. I am glad so many find use from this thread.

@richcamp: read the post. Quote the full context. Maybe you'll get somewhere in this forum. Consistency is taking action with a plan, day by day. Doing the "same old stuff" is in the context of inaction. Yes I do speak English. Obviously I would not be writing in English if I did not have the ability to do so. Do you have a brain? [See. I can insult too, it's easy to do.]

@lexblast: Good addition to the thread. Perhaps you should re-read my post. Are you suggesting that people should give up quickly? Especially giving up just because their results aren't as fast as they'd like? I'm not suggesting anything harmful. Don't put words in my mouth. Thanks.

    ---

Anyway, this thread isn't about motivation. I gave you five concrete, actionable steps to do. I don't know what you will use them for. Frankly I don't give a damn. If you want to DO NOTHING because you are afraid nothing will work, then DO NOTHING.

The helpful replies are great, but I am beginning to see why people prefer posting in the higher, locked levels of the forum.

con·sis·ten·cy - 1 [noncount] : the quality or fact of being consistent: such as a : the quality or fact of staying the same at different times.

Consistency got nothing to do with taking action with plan, in fact doing same old thing IS being consistent. And I wasn't insulting you btw, that was an honest question.

I am going to reply to you one last time.

When I wrote doing the same old thing, it means NOT DOING ANYTHING NEW AND USEFUL TO MAKE MONEY/LOSE WEIGHT/GET THE GIRL OR GUY/GET YOUR POOP IN THE TOILET. [and much more, everything else in life probably] The meaning of what I wrote was very clear. It's obvious that you are the one with poor English skills.

You are actin' a fool! Now if you have anything useful to add, please do. The advice I gave is incredibly useful and is not empty motivation. I am sure most people that see my post are intelligent and see the value in it.

Well done - a very good quality post.

I'm a lot into spot and it very clear that most people don't have any problems with step no. 1 - make a "dream vision".

But the lack that at the consistency and last of making a strategy with smaller realistic goals.

Another problem is that a lot of people make a strategy and then modify the strategy after a short time. Instead of giving it a go with a well planned strategy and only modify the strategy when you make a new goal.
