    Hey all.

So I'm still pretty new to growing Facebook pages, but I just wanted to show you how awesome one of my posts was. It was a pretty funny picture to do with my niche. All I did was tag a few of my actual FB friends (that also have established websites in my niche). I know the numbers aren't that high but I don't have that many fans at the moment, and like I said I'm still pretty new to it all. Feels awesome.

Yeah, content makes the difference on facebook too. I usually try to influence people to share my posts so I get more reach. I also learned that contests are an awesome way to get post/page likes and a lot of shares. Once I was giving away 2 tickets to a business conference through a contest, and I got over 50k reach with a 8k likes page. So I was doing contests constantly, and in about 4-5 months I got a total of over 20k page likes.

Just don't limit your content with "written" content. You could also add or share images and videos in your pages. People like watching more than reading. Anyways, you have done a great job for your page :)

hm - always try to rotate the kind of content you post some text, images and videos, try to make the user interact like "comment if" "what do you think?" always call for action and you will have success. Also monitor the times where your fans are the most active and schedule your posts in this time frame.

Thanks for all the tips guys. I'm just learning about EdgeRank on Facebook now. I've seen a lot of growth (likes) on all 4 of my pages the past week or so. I never could tap into the Facebook marketing stuff. I know it seems stupid now, but the reason was that I wasn't posting consistently. I was busy building niche sites. I truly believe that the best way to do IM would be to build a social media page first, and then build a site around that once the page has enough likes.

Thanks again for the tips and advice. I appreciate it.

So, it is possible to run a contest without using any app designed for that?

I'm not really sure how FB apps work, but you could just run a "fill in the blank ___" or "cation this" contest. I've only tried that once and it doesn't do too well on MY pages. I read that it works best when you have a larger amount of "likes." As an example, my competitors all have 15k+ and they do them little contests all the time and get a ton of responses. I did it a few times and only got about 15 shares.

The best thing about the niche that one of my pages is in, is that all of my "competitors" help each other out. We all know each other outside of FB too though. That might be a reason why.

  10. Goodjob dude :) Try to post some viral pics like, I bet you can't name a animal without A. Very good response always, no matter what niche.

it's good for individual post interaction but I find the new likes aren't engaged with whatever the page is really there for, just the funny images

I guess you just have to make the funny images match your niche.

I mean makes sense right? You're dealing with people. And people love to share things that are awesome. Shows again, with good content and just with a little bit of reach. Things can pan out pretty neatly. Social virology :).
