    Hi

I cant seem to understand. I will see websites that only have 1500 backlinks but with a PR of 3-4 but websites with thousands of links but still PR 0. I know it depends on lot of factors like the PR of the website that is linking to it etc. But what techniques have you guys found to be working with increasing PR of a page quickly?

    Thanks.

You just listed them dude. Get high PR backlinks and you will get higher PR yourself.
    3 x PR9 backlinks would be better than 1000 x PR1 backlinks imo.

To get past a PR1 you need high-pr links or lots of low to mid PR links. There a million tables like this one around and it can be useful as a "general" guide.

I wouldn't worry too much about the PR of a page that you're trying to rank.. but if that's really what you want to do : Get links from high pagerank PAGES (not domains) that have a low amount of outbound links on them.

Easist and cheapest way to increase PR for your site or any page is simply d0Follow blog comments on high PR low OBL pages. Plenty of services here that do just that, or do it yourself with a little Scrapebox work.... doesn't get any easier than that really. Good for flipping your domain and increasing ranking juice of your Tier I's and/or blog networks.

It is better to take time to write comments on those high PR post. I believe most of them are moderated. So, you want to add value to the post.

get backlinks from high page rank pages not the domains, as if you have quality backlinks with high page ranks, your sites page rank will automatically increase. Dont go for too many low page rank links, as it would not get you anywhere, and just increase your work.

PR is really a worthless metric. It can help you appear to be an authority but wont give you actual SERP improvement.

How so untouchable? I would assume that it would give you the chance to have a good SERP improvement, since the PR is decided by google then I would assume if they are giving your site a PR 4-5 they would consider your site to be a good (possibly authority) site. I know the PR that we see is just a snapshot, but would it not work as a good indicator to see if you are going in the right direction?

As explained above, you simply need to get more links from high PR sites. PR3-4 sites start to be interesting, PR5-6 would be ideal. PR7+ would look a little suspicious in my opinion. I guess you can try guest posting, PR blog networks, paid ads, etc.

PR is worthless and is NOT a ranking factor. It is true that high pr links are usually a sign of a good link but it is not always so.
You must take into consideration multiple factors when trying to rank something.
    Such as Domain age
    DA/PA
    Contextual link or not?
In a clean link neighbourhood or not?
Are the links in the footer?
    etc.
