What is the most amount of backlinks you've built to a single domain using Yahoo Site Explorer?

How did it do in the rankings?

Personally, my highest is 9,000 backlinks to one single domain. How about yours?

I love quality links too but you also can't deny the power of thousands of indexed links ;)

150,000+ backlinks showed up in Yahoo Site Explorer.

I used the methods I explained here:

I have a domain with 40K showing in YSE just linking to the index page. The only one that has that many & yet ranks very poorly, because YSE picks up all crap blog comments & stuff like that like a plague.

In contrary I have a domain that shows 150 links in YSE. I know that I have built over 30K contextual links to this domain with over 500K contextual links, blog comments & xrumer profiles linking to those 30K links & the site slays in google.

The lesson: lately YSE has absolutely lost any credibility it ever had, it started happening right after Microsoft bought yahoo. There aren't many tools left for researching competition other than using your experience & guts viewing the competing websites.

~125k BLs to a single domain... No I'm not crazy, I did this for testing purpose...

It did go well but eventually got penalized cause BLs were all spammy blog comments and XRumer profiles...

And yeah, i concluded from that test that we should focus more on quality than quantity ;)

Most I've ever built for a single domain that has showed up in YSE is 200,000.

Took some time, and was surprised to see that many indexed.

659k, no joke this clearly proves quality over quantity as people have stated. The site with these backlinks is currently ranked 8 for its keyword and so far has shown no signs of moving up in the rankings. I am going back to the beginning now and going to attempt to get every link the number 1 spot has. Then number 2 etc, etc.

The real question, how is the website & content? You can only polish a turn so much. I can't tell you how many times I see sites that don't understand the basic fundamentals and focus solely on building links. Start with great content, a decent design (that attracts your target market), and you'll be surprised how effective links truly are.

The site is actually a business page with perfect onsite seo according to seomoz tools. Pages are interlinked well and the blog on the backend is progressing. Other then what I said before I am not sure what else to do. The site converts well and has a great looking design. I have been tweeking most aspects for about months now and I cannot get the site to move.
