Just a heads up for those of you who buy a lot of guest posts or niche edits and don't keep track of your invoices... there are some people going around the common guest post sites and mailing the OBLs/clients to try to get free $$ out of them.

This isn't the first email I got of this kind but it's def a new scam that's trending in the SEO space.

Nothing beats the crypto scam. All over Youtube. Send 100,000,000 million crypto coins to the site and they will send you 200,000,000 coins back. What tipped me off, other than it being so stupid, and wondering why somebody would fall for that...is that the site was a .io. Many are bogus, spammy sites according to domain research I've done.

personally, if I cute girl email me, my brain automatically switch to "scam attempt"

5 most scams I've received so far in 2020-2021:

LinkedIn: Indian girl photo and name studied in harvard or oxford and worked at google or microsoft but now works for an indian bizdev company wants to connect and offer to buy off the company.

Business Prospect: Claims to get your email via "The Google Website" and wants design/dev services please send email for more info, you send your ratecard and get the requirement, if you are like me and require 50% ap then they disappear, otherwise, they then tell you to contact their financier which the equivalent of going through 50 short link ads for shit.

Survey: "Hi my name is ??, can I have some of your time for our national survey of successful ceos (or any other ego inflating term) for quality management purposes so our -fake client- can publish in their multinat mag" they ask all kinds of stuff and sell that info. Thanks to truecaller, any local voip is spam for life, because gov legalized data firms.

covid grant: No such thing exists in our country, the gov support was postponing loans, thats all. So they send whatsapp with min of social dev logo and require confirmation by providing card number and pin code, and to really confirm you deserve this they will ask to provide the otp for the transfer. I was curious, had an empty card and gave them the info, the sms replies where the money was suppose to go: a terminal in an exchange service shop that moves the money abroad to an alias name.

Bank Card Expiry:
similar to covid grand, again they use sms to send bitly links for bank card renewal and ask you to provide full info, but now its like a bot/trigger is invovled due to additional 2fa they send another repliable sms asking for the code.

Some bonuses:

Funniest: When using real content to verify the identity. like this is a wiki submission of elon, hereby I am elon, give money and I give you free upgraded seats to mars or some shit.

Scary: Miscall from a local number and when you call back its a mom demanding you come to the police station for harassing or assaulting her underage daughter and she knows more about you like whats your name, where you live, etc. So the scam is like the guy gets scared and his and his family's rep is in harms way and the criminals persuade him to try settle off-court by using arbitrator (dispute resolution) whom are fake, and they demand high amount to close the issue. *funfact: because of covid, cid police where able to capture the ringleader and their associates when they tried to fake their dispute resolution chamber on gov property by bribing the security and reception, next door watchman told an officer that the building works off hours and everything went to hell for the gang.

Hustle'iest: Awards, best ceo, best designer, best company, best <<insert niche>>. they fake everything from site status, social media popularity, authority, notability, everything. Ask you to nominate "for free" then when you win you pay for the trophy, certs, magazine editorial, etc. of course all award shows are pay to win but these guys are a few years old with no old money backing or prestigue; just a bunch brits, slavs, or latin americans selling awards and hype.
