Privacy went out the door when people wanted connectivity. And companies always cooperate with law enforcement when there is a crime of one of their users involved, the San Bernadino phone case doesn't mean Apple gives a shit about your privacy.

Privacy is not real in the present digital era; it's on papers only. They created a lot of drama when asked about unlocking a terrorist phone but now gave everything to govt about a pirate site owner.

They fought against fbi only because that will damage their reputation as one of the most secured platform.

Exactly, it was threatening their business model and their reputation. We should all face the reality that no for-profit company cares even a little bit about any individuals privacy. When they pretend they do, it's because their profits are in danger. Take some tips from the" hide yo wife"-meme, hide everything you want private because no corporation will ever hesitate to rape your privacy to protect themselves.

I thought Apple said they were not in the business of releasing personal information in criminal investigations because it would cause them to have to do it all the time.

Or at least that's what they said when the government wanted to get inside an iPhone that was used by a potential terrorist.

Let' s just face it guys Apple doesn't care about their clients they care about the wallets of the clients. As long as you can offer something better than their wallet the odds will always be in your side. In San Bernadino phone case everything was there except for the " Something better than the wallet ".

Apple champions their "principles" of protecting their customers' privacy when terrorists are killing innocent people, but they jump to help the government when a pirate is hurting their own profits.

Nothing is for life, and cosidering how bad their products are lately maybe that customer base is thinning...

Anyone could do it, true, but if no one takes action against those that actually do it and they see they can get away with it, everyone will do it. On the other hand if their users protest and the see this, they might think twice next time...

anyway, it's just an idea... I guess no one will care that much, though it is indeed sad
