Hey, my name is Espella! I'm an eighteen year old student from Western Europe. I'm completely new to this, aside from the past few months of research I've done, I have absolutely no experience whatsoever. Being able to build my way up to a nice passive or minimal effort income of a few ?k per month is the dream, really. I'll be honest, I don't have anything riding on this. I have minimal student debt (who doesn't?), no family to support, nothing I need a ton of money for in a short amount of time. I want to pay off my student loans and have a good income to supplement my lifestyle and I'm willing to work toward that goal.

I'm making this thread to stay motivated, and I'm going to be updating it every single day with my progress. Being a student, I spend a lot of time at my computer so there's no excuse for me to not be working to achieve my goals. I have a bit of income per month to invest, but I've decided not to outsource, since I like to write and am fluent in English.

So far I've purchased a handful of domains, and I've decided to give all my attention to three separate niche sites for the time being. I'll be monetising them with Amazon Associates. I've decided on a Wordpress theme already and I've organised hosting, but I've been too lazy to set my sites up, which I will do tomorrow, since I have a day off. Need to look into plugins and think about social media. For now, I'm going to be reading other journeys for inspiration until I decide to turn in for the night.

Anyway, looking forward to starting my journey and hoping this thread will achieve its goal of helping me stay motivated!

Welcome to BHW Espella, and good luck on this journey. Given your humble aspirations I expect you may find making money online a bit easier than other people. It's amazing how hard the pressure of having to perform hits some people. So since you are financially stable already - you could have a leg up over people struggling to keep food on the table.

Let us know how things are going!

    Thanks, man!

I'm sure hoping so. I think my greatest advantage is that I don't have a huge stake in this, I don't need to overexert myself or do anything drastic. I'll be sure to keep everyone updated!

    Thanks!

    day one

Cold day today! I didn't want to get out of bed. Unfortunately, since I'm recovering from an illness at the moment, very little got done. I did figure out how to install my Wordpress theme but already I've run into a problem. Gonna talk to support about that tonight. I've decided to give up on social media since research has told me that it's not necessary for an Amazon Associates orientated website, which makes sense. It's all about keyword ranking and content. Since I can't do any real hands-on work on my sites tonight I'm going to do some more research; read some more journeys. I've been thinking about starting a drop shipping business too. Just for fun. We'll see. Hopefully tomorrow I'll have a real update to share.

    day two

Okay, wow. I've never set a website up before and I had no idea how frustrating it could be. Wordpress still isn't working and I'm having issues syncing my name servers. I contacted support and they told me they could take a few days to sync. I'm antsy to get my sites live as soon as possible but I can tell I'm going to need to exercise a little patience here. Not a problem though. Perfect time to prepare articles, reviews, and do further research. I've bought a few products and services so far and will be keeping a tally of any profits and expenditures as of the next update.

Try to read as much as you can about business and marketing. There's ways to cut literal years off your journey by learning from other people's mistakes before you make your own.

You would be absolutely amazed how much there is out there that you don't already know and that's one of the reasons I'm here myself.

Expect to fail a lot on your journey but remember that failure is a normal part of the process. Just make sure you keep going because that's how success happens.

    Thanks!

You're absolutely right, of course! I've been doing tons of research over the past few months. I definitely find I learn the most from people talking about their failures so I know what to avoid doing. There's always so much more to learn, I'm looking forward to learning a lot more!

    day three

Honestly only updating tonight because I am determined to update every day, even if it's with nothing. Unfortunately, absolutely nothing got done today due to an unexpected emergency in my personal life. Will make up for it tomorrow! The idea of writing content seems so daunting I'm tempted to outsource, but I want to keep start-up costs low. Tomorrow is another day off, so I will have the whole day to work on my sites.

    day four

Much to my chagrin, Wordpress did not sort itself out on its own. I will be contacting support again tomorrow to get it sorted out once and for all. Did a little more research. I wasn't expecting it to be so slow to start, I really wanted to get right in and start setting up sites that could make money but I realize I need to be patient and take it one step at a time. I did have more domains purchased than I thought (I went on a buying spree mid August), so I will be setting up four sites to start rather than three. I'm looking forward to sorting out this hosting mess, I've never hosted a site before. It'll be good experience and then I'll never have to deal with this again.

Thanks! You're right, I'll keep that in mind! I'm having fun learning as I go but it would save a lot of time and frustration to just ask when I need to.

    day five

Alright, the name servers for site number one have synced and I got Wordpress to work at long last! The problem was due to a very silly error on my part. I guess that's part of the learning process. This morning I set up the transfers for the remaining domains (my domains are split between two vendors) so hopefully those will be all synced up sometime tomorrow and I can finally get to work.

What I'm planning to do tomorrow (or whenever everything is all synced up) is to lay down the theme for all my sites and tweak it a bit, and I'm going to doodle some logos and graphics to give the sites a more personal feel. This won't take long. As far as content goes, I haven't managed to motivate myself to start writing yet. It seems daunting. For the rest of the night I'm going to poke around a few other affiliates sites just to get myself in the right mind to really get to work tomorrow.

Alright, all name severs are synced. It's time to actually start making websites! I didn't get around to setting up themes today as I was busy with my personal life but I did conceptualize some designs for logos and graphics. The goal for the first week of this project is to have all sites ready to start having content added to them. I'll start work on that tomorrow. Actually writing content still seems so daunting. I guess I just need to jump in and start writing and get into the swing of it.

It's so difficult to stay motivated. I keep telling myself "I'll do it in an hour". "I'll do it this evening". And then I'm exhausted and nothing gets done. I understand why most journeys fail now. I can do all the research in the world but it means nothing if I don't start making sites. I guess even though nothing got done today, it's still an important lesson. Tomorrow marks the first day of week two. My aim for the end of week two is to have at least one site completely set up and ready to make some income.
