As we all know, in 2016 everyone was talking about the "Mobile-First Index" that google promised and it quickly became a buzzword in marketing meetings. Her, mobile was a priority for many of us before that and the change to mobile devices is unquestionable. I truly think a bigger impact will be the use of voice to search. Let's call it now, 2018 will be the year of voice. With consumers now having the ability to say "Hey alexa, buy me some bacon" rather than going to the supermarket to buy it themselves, more and more searches will be done using voice. People are lazy, and lazy people will always do what's easiest. The true question I have to my fellow BHW members is how do you think WE are going to impact this consumer behaviour and more importantly, what are you doing now to prepare for it? From what I have read via searching the threads the general consensus is: Long tail keywords are going to win people will search more conversationally, now instead of searching "steakhouse newyork" people will say "where is the best steakhouse in New York?" (primitive example but you get the point) again this all comes back to an emphasis on mobile, but I think that in general all devices are moving toward the smartphone model, from smart tvs to smart appliances. Your TV is no longer just a TV and your pool filter will know when chemical stocks are low and refill your order with the lowest costing supplier near you. Some nice facts were shared in another thread by Marrrko Finally Do you think we will be able to manipulate our rank on places like amazon for their voice search ability? How long until we will see VOICE SEO sales threads popping up in the marketplace? And on a side note I understand voice search is not a new thing, but I feel the approaching wave of CEO's throwing it around to sound relevant.
